we should all be autodidacts! most people can't afford the uni education, so go to the library and get it for free!! you will have to persevere & spend alot of time but if you have a thirst for knowledge it will be the most fun you could have :)

He was kicked out of school an doesn't read books. He's interested in language and has an incredible retention of vocab. He gets most of his vocab from the telly. He's a genius, a complete one off.
He's right, if a country decides to call themselves something, I think it is a bit arrogant for someone else to decide they should be called something else. So I think everyone should just start calling Finland 'Suomi' because then we could finally forget that's what we were called under Swedish rule and it's shorter to write on a postcard. So if you'd all be so kind as to learn the proper Finnish name for Finland I'd be ever so grateful.

thought what you said is a bit weird. You cant expect everyone to call in Suomi, cause for some people that's just not pronounceable. We say Nederland, but i cant expect other people to call it that if they can't pronounce it now can I?
To be honest I don't quite remember why I wrote that comment and I suspect I may have meant it as ironical. Then again it's not that farfetched to try and learn the original names for places, after all they have changed 'Peking' to 'Beijing' which is supposed to be closer to Chinese... And Suomi is not such a difficult word, try my hometown Jyväskylä;) All the best!
