  • LOVE!!

  • this (bonerific)scene mad me a fan of cyd charisse.

  • An insult towards this dance is an insult towards her memory. Just don't. She could walk all over So You Think You Can Dance. It is a big deal.

  • Basically a slutty dance for men.but is sure dont take much..all a woman would have to do is go naked and just strut around even if she didnt know how to dance..SO NO BIG DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @alliecat1941 A slutty dance for men? I'm a woman and I enjoyed this dance and admired her form. The dance is primal, beautiful, and takes a lot of skill, training, power, and artistry to pull off. Don't compare it to someone strutting around naked, as if the two are the same. It is a big deal, because there is no one who could do this dance like Cyd Charisse. Sexy doesn't mean trashy.

  • My God, I'm simply captivated! This performance makes me think of the title "crouching tiger, hidden dragon". Not the movie, just the title. I think it describes this dance perfectly. Very powerful and alluring yet mysterious. This woman has talent!

  • compared to pretty much everything today, that outfit is pretty conservative (other than the legs but who would cover those up on her?) and she manages to bring sex appeal to the long sleeve high necked leopard print leotard. cyd charisse is my favorite.

  • The twentieth century gave us Cyd Charisse. And with the twenty first, what do we get?....Lady bloody Ga Ga! So much for evolution. The way we're going we'll be back on all fours by the twenty second! I know who'll be remembered though.

  • @crankbv1 so sad but so true!!! the entertainment industry sucks today. it's not even watchable anymore!

  • this is probably why some people think leopard print is sexy.

    I'm starting to agree.

  • From about 1:40 to 2:05 you can get a clear look at her feet. Not girl feet these are of a dancer at the athletic level. The size & built up muscles are a necessity for pulling off the steps she is doing

  • I luv it

  • 0:18 to 0:29 - oh, my, God. (O_o)

  • Cyd Charisse was dance itself, some wrote dance with Micheal Jackson, she danced with Kelly, Astaire, Jackson a sawed off, transexual freak show, I have watched Charisse dance since the 50's, think about it, in the 1940's, 50;s a freak like Jackson would have been in with the bearded lady. Walking backwards is not dance, Jackson had no talent that is why he danced with no talent. The idea of that freak with Charisse makes me sick.

  • she's like my dancing idol she inspired me to get back in ballet as soon as possible she is amazing which we'd have teachers like her around i miss you cyd RIP

  • As Leslie Nielsen says in "The Naked Gun" "she was the kind of woman that makes you want to get down on your knees and thank God your a man!"

  • damn! she'd make one sexy cat, screw jocelyn wildenstein! MEOW

  • con una follada y una corrida en sus piernas asi se retorceria Cyd

  • that was a good movie <3 cyd is awesomeeee

  • Oh, man. Go Cyd!

  • gravyboat says it all -- "Go Cyd!!!"

  • reminds me of the twilight zone episode "perchance to dream", maya the cat girl

  • Incandescent!

  • la mejor y mas bella bailarina de la humanidad hasta 2009.

  • best legs ever!

  • I think it would have been fun & interesting to see Cyd teamed with Michael Jackson in some of his non-pop dance arrangements

  • Michael Jackson didn't know how to dance with a female. Watch him in "In the Closet" with Naomi Campbell.

  • MJ did partner dancing very well--e.g., I saw an old clip of him dancing with Brooke Shields & then another clip one with another gal who wasn't identified. Then of course, he partners in one of my favs,"Blood on the Dance Floor," etc.

It still would have been fun & interesting to see him teamed with Cyd in some of his non-pop dance arrangements.

  • @heyyouube11111 I think Michael would have faired better with a professional. The only videos that I remember him dancing with someone is Remember The Time and Blood on the Dance Floor. I wouldn't exactly call what he and Naomi did dancing.

  • This number is called, "The Beat." Choreography by Robert Sidney.

  • god i love how she spins.

  • I thought I knew most of her great dance scenes, but MG seeing that beautiful face those sexy legs and dancing in her bare feet is simply EROTIC!!! That fertility like ballet dance, and that music, is connecting with some primal part of me. and judging by the look of her audience, its working on them too...in other word thats a major turn on. And Im sure she knew and if thats what she is shooting for --!! Mission accomplished!!

  • Not bad for a dancer who fought off polio as a child, and through mental determination and acute pain, fulfilled her dream to dance. Cyd was a one off.

  • I didnt know she fought off polio, wow, she was a marvelous lady, and was married for so long, not something you find in Hollywood

  • Shes HOTT...Bottom Line People!!! Fuckin leapord, those legs, those moves? Do I need to say more? Im captivated by those hips...Heres an idea, add 50-cents Ayo Technology...Someone do it....:)

  • OMG her timing... her moves!! I LOVE CYD!!! Genius!

  • For some completely odd reason this reminds me a little of some of the episodes of the Original Star Trek.

  • I had the same thought: it's the music, I think and the costume.

  • the rigidity of her waist only makes her dancing classier and brings focus to her more than perfect legs

  • im a girl and i think she is simply beautiful and sexy in this dance....if only i had those legs

  • fucking amazing

  • Actually Cyd Charisse was in the Russian Ballet at 14 and you can totally see in her movement what her dance background is. This VId is Awesome!

  • FIERCE! I love Cyd Charisse

  • Girlfriend could throw down!! And the tanned, impossibly well-toned legs are impossible to take one's eyes off of. Thanks for this.

  • A lot of ballet in there. Strong music.

Her split dress reminds me of Jessica Lange in King Kong (who had very healthy hams).

Thanks for posting and honoring her.
