@southside58 FACE PALM. u gotta mod it in teh gt auto thing. it costs all together 560,000 dollars. the car is 180,000, and the race mods are 350,000 or somin. and u gotta tune it up AFTER the race mods. so its like 600,000

@InspiredBloodMage Go to practice, select the daytona race and try these setting. It its doesnt work for you tweak it till it fits your driving style.

1. Aerodynamics: front 35 rear 30

2. All engine, exaust, intake and turbo should be at the most expensive level.

3. Transmission: Move top speed to 261

4. Suspention: Ride height: 0 front 10 rear. Anti- roll bar both 2. Camber front and rear 0. Toe angle -o.o4 front and -0.o7 rear. Everything else set to default.

5. drivetrain: (THIS IS IMPORTANT) Initial torque 49 Acceleration sensitivity 46. Deceleration sensitivity 37. I think this was the key to my victory. This stops you from spinning out when you accelerate and stops your car pretty good. But dont brake too much while turning or brake to hard of you run into the grass.

6. brakes: Front brakes 8 rear 5

Then before the race starts go to DRIVING OPTIONS: AUTO TRANMSSION. Racing soft tires, Traction control 5. Skid recovery force on.

@InspiredBloodMage I KNOW RIGHT!!!! THIS ONE IS EASY!!! I tried to beat daytona with all assists off and the vette spun ouut control and i could not control it!!!!! So i did my own work. You gotta go to the daytona practice track and practice to see WHICH CAR SETTINGS WORK FOR YOUR DRIVING STYLE. And the corvette is the right car! I won the daytona by a 2 second lead, at one point, i even slid out and came to a complete stop. Found my way back to the road and i was still in 1st place.

The most IRRITATING thing about this race is when you get ahead of the pack and they constantly draft and clip you from behind, making you spin out of control.

It's also VERY annoying when you've worked like a PIG to finally get into 1st position, and they draft past you, and get IN YOUR FUCKING WAY. Now you've lost your line and have to navigate around them, causing you to swerve, lose control, hit the wall, etc.

When I finally beat this race it will be by an accidental MIRACLE.

@OpenTheRefrigerator In the settings list go to the top option I've forgotten what its called, but if u have added a spoiler , or have racecar/race mods u should be able to adjust downforce

Yes if you get the ZR1 it is actually very easy to win Like The Wind. I am on Level 24 Dream Car Challenge with the Minolta car I won from Like The Wind and it too seems really easy so far. Just the races are kind of long......thanks for the tip!

The setting for the Vette to win Like The Wind:

You need 10 kilos ballast set on 0, you need the supercharger, all the things you can buy, (MAKE SURE YOU BUY A SUPERCHARGER) do all the modifications, air filters, everything you can buy.

yo, thanks for this man! got it first try with the corvette and I even forgot to widen the gears on the transmission. anyone who couldn't do it with this set up needs to stop crashing into walls. just got the racing mods/supercharger,ecu + engine upgrades. and to be honest, you dont even need to use your brakes for this race, just stay in 6th and let off the gas before the corner, wind resistance will brake for you.

Use 35/35 aero instead of 35/60. 35/35 is much better, allows you to do the turns at full speed.

Seriously, ive tried everything u've suggested and it doesnt work at all. Ur even doing laptimes 2-4 seconds slower than mine. Im even driving with a Logitech G27 stearing wheel + Playseat GT. Ive also done all em lisences up to IB, with only gold medals. The cars im running against are atleast twice as fast as me in the corners, where im supposedly faster. THank u for makin me waste 600 000 of my spendings.

Like the Wind took me a while but I beat it eventually with a RM ZR1 all maxed out. it's the first few corners that'll get you up in the pack then in the 2nd last lap you'll next get a chance to move up to first-ish. :D hope it helps! (btw it's been AGES since I played GT5 lol).

alnernatively you can use a nomad diablo gt -1 '00 which you can get in used cars it costs about 730000 and its 549hp...tuned it gets up to 860 hp and customising the gearbox to its top of 440kmh and suspension at lowest and hardest....takes you to winning easily....

I used a Zonda R with a turbocharger with default settings. The faster you get to first place it gets easier since none of the cars even try to pass you once you're in first, even when they are right on your ass.

The easiest way that I know is to do this event with a formula GT, set your trans to 255mhp it will not reach the 255mph, but it will do 250mph when you slip stream correctly. It's so easy to do it I alway pass a car at the last lap before the last two turns.

Indy: Pagani Zonda, fully tuned. Transmission to 390 km/h

Downforce: Front 30, Rear 38

Daytona: Bugatti Veyron, fully tuned, complete weight reduction (!!).

Reduce top speed to around 370 km/h and go for it. That's how I did it in the second try.
