My T862++ wont even budge these chips, how long do you heat your chips for , im so dissapointed with this machine, any advice. the chip is small amd northbridge and i heat at max temps and still nothing. i need to remove this chip with out damaging the board.
Popcorn means the heat didnt get distributed to all 4 corners and the ends lifted the pads off. if happens yer frigged! im finding now just to purchase the proper gpus off ebay allready balled. it is cheaper in end. think you can get them for 15-20 and saves tons of time
hows the pop corning with this machine, i have this machine & i cant seem to stop pop corning the chips, i set my preheat at 160 for 3 mins then raise to 200 over the next 2 mins, then i turn the ir lamp on set at 100, if i go any higher it pop corns straight away........ i can't understand how you use this machine with the temps you use without damaging the chip, any tips & advice would be appreciated.
Hello, I am new to the reballing scene and I have the T862 myself. I am having trouble in the actual resoldering part though. I can get the chip off and reball it great, but I have a few questions if you don't mind to help me with please...
1. When resoldering what temp is your preheat plate?
2. When resoldering what temp is the IR Beam and how long to you keep on?
3. Should the chip actually sink down and thats when you know it is resoldered?
@bonzeroni1 well I tried my first xbox and the first try i put bolts in each hole to try and keep the board straight, I noticed that the board was bowing straight up towards the lamp and had to stop. I went to home depot and bought a 3/4 in wood board and made a jig for the board to keep it flat. I thought it was a great idea, but even with the jig I managed to get a slight bow right in the middle where the chip goes, board done for now. How do you manage to keep the board perfectly level?
@bonzeroni1 were can you get the correct bulb or do you just leave it unattached i hear so many people saying that you cannot reball a xbox with this but you prooved them all wrong.
hello sir! whats best for me? im not doing it to fix liek 5 boxs a day but for the occasional fix and for a hobby, basically i can get the aoyue hot air station for £130 and then the t-880 infrared pre-heater for £110, or get this IR station for £200 from hong kong, which is best? is this IR good as it seems bit cheap? do you need any other tools with this? ( obvously reball stencils ) but anything else?
thats the tough thing! make sure the main board is not warped aroung gpu area. it NEEDS to be perfectly flat or wont work. do same as removal stepping up temps BUT dont go over 250 it should form to board. this part takes some getting used to. id still use a hot air rework station to even the heat around outer 4 corners but be quick! move around dont stay in same area. youll see it actually drop to the board.
to reflow, preheat plate to 180 and set lamp to 200
put flux around all 4 sides. turn on lamp and have centered on gpu for 20 seconds then move around all 4 corners for 20 seconds then turn off. ive had success this way. only had 8 out of 200 units not give
hi ,i just got the T862++ can you advice me exactly how to use this sustem to take of nvidia chipset for macbook, what tempretuare for pre heat? when using the lamp?how long time?what distance the lamp from the motherboard? thank you so much
Hi i have €360 around $480 to spend on rework machine ,would t-862++ be good one to get or is there big difference with t-862
I have 2 laptop mobos with "damaged" gpu and would like to try fix them myself as a guy quoted me€180 to reball one of them
Are there any other machines that i could get to go with this that wouldnt cost a fortune please
Thanks again for vid

@collazoscesar it looks like he isn't using a lense on his and using the aluminum foil to contain the light.

@Murrdogg85 dont use this machine... thw preheater is not even close enough to being big enough for like a 360 board... the boards will just warp

@Murrdogg85
preheat plate to 180
start bulb at 100 and step up on 50's
at 150 start to use a hot air rework station around 4 corners but dont stay on one area too long.
you should see it start forming around 150-200
id personally use a hot air gun/rework station as the GPU is bigger than the bulb and it can not distribute heat evenly to all 4 corners
Please be aware, the unit is sent with a bulb attachment downing size. take/unscrew that off before working on xboxes
