This is the sound Friendly Fires should explore on their next album. "Hurting" was the best single of 2011 and the title track "Pala" though not single-worthy, is a great album track with some very high-quality production. Hopefully this type of production underscores the band's future endeavors. Many bands today just try to emulate the production of the 80s but Friendly Fires has also emulated the song structure of those days and hence outshines the rest of the bands.
