OMG at my SKool we HaD THIS THING CALLED midnight madness and 2 PeOple sang THIS sonG it was so funny Cuz nobody knew the SONG BUT some people did it was AWESPME!!!!!!!:):)
Super, a tough call between Green acres and The Beverly Hillbillies. Both were so subtlety pretentious and yet so overtly sarcastic about modern America as a society.
if there's anything most to note about eddie albert is that he lived to 100..almost. just less than eleven months shy. how did he do it? how did he adjust to it?
A great solo version, better in some ways as Eddie Albert had quite a good voice. I'd love to see Green Acres again - I'm from the UK and it hasn't been shown over here much. Why won't they release the rest of the series on DVD? Still no seasons 4,5 or 6...
It gets up my nose when crap like The Brady Bunch (apologies to Brady Bunch fans) gets every season released when a real classic like Green Acres only gets its first three seasons on DVD.
@ jed6271 - This version was released on Eddie's solo album ("The Eddie Albert Album") in 1966. That's the one that also contained his infamous cover of "Blowin' in the Wind."
Hey! Great tribute to a really funny TV show. Thanks for your good work on this.
I used to watch this every night (morning?) at 4:30AM on TV Land a few years ago. Even captured a lot of the shows on DVD! Still love it. Hmmm, gotta dig out those DVD's now...
Anyway, well done. Well worth a "thumbs UP". Five stars ***** !
I believe CBS-TV issued one of these "solo" versions of the Green Acres theme (oddly without Eva Gabor) on an album in the 1960's, along with themes and songs from other shows, to promote their TV shows of the era. CBS Special Products was the issuing label / company.
@squeeky95 if you type in "Green Acres episodes", there should be some that come up. Or if you use Hulu, just type in "Green Acres" there's lots of em on there. I've seen every episode of the first 2 seasons, and I LOVE IT! I'm sure you will too. It really is a funny TV show. It's one of my favorites.
@jgknightboyz2000 Thanks! :D Now my dad & I like to watch it on the computer! It's an amazing show, too bad it was canceled! This would make a perfect tv shows for kids nowadays!
@wtmhmh Green Acres is the place to be Farm Livin is the life for me Land Spredin out so far and wide Take Manhattan just gimme that country side The Chores! Their Stores!
