A 650bhp (RUF are always conservative with their power outputs) will destroy the SL too, it has much more power and a lot less weight. Even an SL black series would struggle to match that RUF.

Than they build it up to a super sports car. Reducing the car's inertia (by making it lighter for example) is part of the engineering challenge - something that is tested by a standstill race. Whereas a big, heavy, car with poor aerodynamics and a big engine may be able to hide it's inertia with a rolling start.

By starting from say, 50km/h, one can observe the true acceleration of each vehicle as traction has already been achieved and is merely a matter keeping that right foot planted.
