  • STRESS Remember to breath my friend :D

  • The website doesn't host it any more :(

  • dude can you help me im having a problem with this its always saying network connection fail, and its very frustrating please help..

  • won't chromium in a VM just be a google chrome webbrowser?

  • ChromiumOS Sucks!

  • Works great. Thanks!

  • thank you

  • so chromium os is basically installing a web browser as your os...fail.

  • It's actually the greatest thing you can do for netbooks.

  • the thing people like is its speed, super fast boot

  • @iSammoXD

You can do a lot on the web nowadays, so it really isn't much of a fail. Maybe a half-fail since you can't really use certain programs on it (at least, I imagine you can't). I can see this as a potential dual-boot OS. Besides it's still in the early stages, we will have to wait and see how it matures.

  • Thanks. :D

  • is there another site where i dont have to sing up for?

  • how can i write @ in the sign in window?

  • @SimplyLook

hold down shift and 2 at the same time.

  • @RandomDoomsday15 or ' if on a UK keyboard.

  • with your keyboard...

  • i will the iso

  • thanks a million man !! great video !!

  • I downloaded VMware and the google code, but when I open VMware it only gives me the option to open or download a virtual machine. I tried openin the google os but it didn't work. Why is there to create new or something like that? An advice anyone?

  • Awesome i think i gonna do this to my laptop but i have a question,

Isn`t there a desktop. I know everything is stored on the internet but i prefer a desktop.

    -MrMortjon

  • @MrMortjon If you want a desktop I recommend downloading or buying a version of windows ( installer disk ) and install it as a virtual machine. Chromium OS Was Made For People Who Literally Live O

  • @MrMortjon On* The Internet

  • Thanks alot man :)

  • Fuck yeah! thx you so fucking much!!!

  • thanks mobilephone2003!

  • cool

  • Windows 7 FTW!!

  • @crackshotandmoe34 that aint wireless but in a way it is because now wires but i though everyone ment wireless as in chargin from nothing but thats got a electric connection between the mat and phone but low voltage so dosnt effect us but does charge

  • HEEELP!

It only has stuff like Open and Download on it!

    Halp MAI!

  • Ok, this is so awesome and is helping me a lot, but How do you override the chrome file like you did? I just pasted, but no override message, the picture(on the file) shows the file as a zip but its a vmdk

    Am I being confusing?

  • This will be another Xandros unless they support *nix progs.

  • So... how are you supposed do do things like listen to music? Discard your collection and listen on things like grooveshark? And what about things like USB storage support, scanning or even accessing your local drive? A decent effort at a 700MB browser, but I'm sticking with xUbuntu on my Netbook, and even if they do sort things out, i think i'll pass on this one.

  • From what I see it's pretty much Google Chrome except 700 MB lol.

  • wats a virtual machine?

  • software on your pc to run a different OS on your computer at the same time. Virtual Box is a free software to do so.

  • so i have windows vista so i could use it 2 use it like a mac?

  • yeah, if you bought the mac OS, and you can use 7, linux OS's and others.

  • i dont own a mac i only have vista can i use a virtual thing to use mac and use there programs

  • Chrome OS is boring. It's just a resource hogging browser turned into its own OS for no apparent reason. I can see how it can be useful on say, a netbook that you only use for online stuff, but other than that, it's not useful. Good video, though.

  • hey duncan according to the download site it is $39......

    is this right?

  • sign up and you can download free

  • k (to short)

  • No, it's for free :)

  • Thanks Duncan!

  • I didnt rate it on the concept, just because it was in early stages. It is a good concept, especially with so many things moving to the cloud, however transitioning people from desktop apps to web apps will be an extremely difficult process

  • whats next, an internet exploer OS? Honestly, just run chrome in windows.

  • This os is good for netbooks..

  • yay that was the whle point of this os

  • Comment removed

  • Good, and thanks.

  • i can't log in!!

  • What does the chromium os help.. i mean u candownload google chrome.. and do everything on it.. lol

  • @pilo290master its supposed to just be ready when u turn your machine on

  • There's still no point to it.. Google should have thought it over before they made an OS. How exactly is this helping PC or Mac users.

  • @CNNGaming it isnt

  • @CommericalsKid Exactly, they need a purpose for an OS. This is just running Google Chrome in a window. No taskbar? No Nothing..? :S It's stupid.

  • You need to do more research on cloud computing.

  • xD I already know what it is, and this os is considered one, but they are pointless.

  • Hello Duncan

nice video as usual ,but you speaking so fast

    i can't follow you accurately .

  • rewind as many times as you need

  • thanks for your quick replay

by the way i posted some programs in the freeware section as u requested & i will post more just give me some time.

  • worst os ever, i even prefer xp!, so happy it wont b on a real laptop, it can only b on netbooks XD

  • good video THX

  • It looks nice for something that is supposed to be released in the second half of 2010. I look forward to seeing what else they add to it. It already does not use Xorg which is interesting in itself.

  • where do i press to take the vdmk from the site

  • You register and login in the site, and visit the link in the description.

  • wow how weird, i was just looking at this yesturday o.O

  • DAMN, I was going to make a video on this.. : (

  • definetely needs more work atm

  • It looks really shit but well its google

  • where can you get vmdk files?

  • head. wall. repeat.

  • face. palm. repeat.

  • thats it?

how is a damn web browser an "OS"

    well, this is gonna suck.

    I'll just wait for Mac OS X 10.7 (:

  • The idea is that in the future, we will run all our applications in a web browser.

  • But thats ghey!

So in the future, the 'idea' is that i'll have to run Final Cut Pro from the internet???

  • Yes, you'll run software like FCP from the internet. The idea is that you'll have a low spec computer, and all the encoding, rendering, etc will be done on a server, and it'll stream FCP onto your low spec machine. You'll be running the software remotely.

  • and the internet in the future will be 4.8 gigabits per second like usb 3.0?

    (that would be awesome, btw)

But like, for example, some mobile DJ's which use laptops for the software, wont be able to use it because theres no internet connectivity, thus making the computer obsolete... =|

    Idk..but..thats the 'future'

  • There will be internet everywhere in the future. You'll even be able to recharge your computer wirelessly.

  • hmmm..that would be cool..lol

  • @korwinblue You can recharge Iphones and stuff wirelessly right now. I'm fairly sure there is an adapter for a laptop out there somewhere.

  • recharge what do you mean because if your talking bout the battery thats like inpossable atm in time as the only way it can be done is sending electric that dosnt go well for anythink in between the connections

  • @tekriacorp Just search up power mat and you'll see.

  • I know about the power mat (I'd hardly call it wireless) but its a start. I'm saying we could carry a laptop from one room to the next, and not have to worry about battery life.

  • @korwinblue Just imagine how much radiation that would create

  • last time I checked, we aren't affected by electromagnetic fields

  • We absorb everything around us, radiation, electromagentic fields, they all have an affect on our health.

  • so tell me.. I have an induction plate for my iPhone. how soon will I die of cancer? that's usually the result of everything nowadays....

  • u missed the most important part, running web app, :(

  • Used this before, it was such a disappointment when i got it all up and running! :(

  • i'll wait for at least a beta

it doestn't make much more than than a browser

  • Can you use bootcamp?

  • It's Made M ainly For Net Books, It Only Works If You Have The Internet On It

  • much rather xp on my netbook :P

  • How Do i download this doesnt say any link that says download

  • already an os?

question what interfaces does it run on can it run regular .exe and crap?

  • Its based on Linux.

  • google has their own os???!!! wtf that was fast

  • It's pre-alpha. It's not NEARLY done.

  • not nearly

  • He already mentioned that. Its not completed.

  • ah k thanks lol

  • they started a week ago :D

  • google has been talking about a new os from them for over a year saying "its in development"

  • VERY helpful
