  • Does no one know how to stand, or even walk briskly, alongside the bike, put one's left foot on the pedal, then in one motion roll forward while swinging the other leg other the saddle? This is pathetic to watch!

  • Yeh fair enough that was average form, but hey at least they’re out there giving it a go. Its one thing to ridicule with a camera on the sidelines, but its another to be out there. Quit bitchin and get out there and ride

  • that teardrop helmet is gold!

  • alot of these people have more money then brains

  • Triathletes are fools :-D

  • These seem like very casual triathletes, but for IM and half IMs, what you don't wan't is to sideway crash = bruised knee at the start. Flying bike mounts are overrated for anything over Olympic distances, as the most aero free-bottle place is behind your arse, which makes flying amount all but impossible. For OD and shorter, no bottles are really needed, maybe a Torhans up front. These are hilarious though, but a 5-8 sec saving on a flying mount won't bust or make a 70.3/IM.

  • I feel like a fucking hero because i can mount a bike and sprint off. thanks

  • bahaha

  • "than"

  • 0:36 was like "what ever"

  • True, so many triathletes are stuffed after the swim due to not having enough oxygen in their bodies, so they tend to get a bit lightheaded hence the lack of coordination. So if youre a naturally good swimmer you can get off to a flying start....

  • I honestly want to go to a local tri to watch this happen (I live in Vancouver, so it's probably even worse here).

  • Road racing all the way!!!

  • This is why I rock an entry-level road bike w/a triple in the transition area. As much as I would love to drop $5k on a tri-bike, I still have yet to exceed (or even reach) the potential of my current bike. My favorite was watching a gal in her bathing suit fall over from her unintentional track stand because her gears were too high trying to ride out. Still, she probably beat my ass.

  • they wasted $5,000 on a bike to save 2lbs and hundreds of dollars shaving their legs.

Any top rider could win this race with shimano 105 road group and hairy legs. Save your money and time and do 20 minutes of hill repeats or flat intervals until you puke. Do this twice a week and you will place better then any dollar spent!!!! Fact!!! Don't follow the rest of the sheep who spend money on carbon!! When you lose by 2 seconds in the pro division, consider spending money on stupid wheels.

  • @velvetmidget you say that like 105 is a bad thing

  • Wow that is some astonishingly bad bike handling. Is this a Special Olympics kind of thing?

  • If I did a triatholon I would have rubber pedals with rubber toe straps from an exercise bike, then change into my running shoes on a downhill section while riding the bike.

  • @jonathannrice They're buying wine and having a candle lit dinner for a half-hearted wank.

  • 3) Because most of them are terrible at this on a rank beginner level, as if they hadn't even practiced for a sport they're competing in. They deserve some ripping.

  • I did that race the year in the video. To their credit, the start is up hill and kind of difficult. And I know the girl who falls and she could more than likely kick your ass. She is pretty fast .

  • @Droppedac she maybe bikes fast, but she sucks at jumping on and racing off in this vid...

  • they (triathletes) could learn a thing or two from cyclocrossers about mounting a bike on the run.

  • Stand at the end of a transition area at a local tri - I GUARANTEE that 90% of the entrants forgot to downshift their bikes before they hung them up. They'll bust a nut trying to pedal off in WAY too big a gear and/or their bikes make horrific noises while they try to downshift them under load. (I've even seen a few dropped chains).

This is what happens when "runners" ride bikes.

  • @TwoWheeler2 My guess is it's on purpose. It's what happens when n00bs read about how the pros do it. It's to keep more tension on the chain so it's less likely to come off in the transition area. Much like leaving the shoes clipped on the bike, it's nothing but a source of hilarity when used by over-funded first-timers.

  • @hslch I know this chick, and she would WASTE you in a race!!

  • @hslch better to train doing it the right way (shoes clipped in) right from the first triathlon. it's not that hard, i spent 2 hours on my local street practicing and the transition went great.

  • special olympians in training

  • @coolsauce2102 hahaha was gonna write the same thing.

  • you care an awful lot about other people's race times, which is more pathetic in my opinion.

  • Love it. One of these douchebags tried to take me out at the mass start of the Wisconsin Centurion. On the aero bars IN A MASS START, then tries to reach over to start his watch and knocks into three of us.

  • Money > Sense

  • Seriously? What is this?

  • It's not hard to learn clipless pedals. Just swap out your regular pedals for clipless and commute on it for a month. You will be a pro. After that it is also necessary to commute by bicycle for other reasons.

  • WOW. Just WOW.

  • idk think any of these people can ride there bikes without handlebars.....#LOL

  • its easier to have your shoes already clipped in, then jump on an put shoes on whilst on bike

  • @spongeanator90 For shorter tris, changing shoes is a waste of time. Use toe clips and running shoes.

  • junior triathletes(such as myself) dont use clips(cycling shoes) as we still need experience/practice and it affects our mounting/dismounting and my teammate fell off the bike after mount with clips. as she lost balance during securing the clips. so note to all using clips, pls do be careful

  • zipp wheels AND CANT GET ON THE BIKE?!!?!

  • @jazzercising011 can't buy me talent? hehe

  • If you don't know how to do the shoe technique, go home and practice practice. You do not try to put the shoes before you are rolling, you first step on the shoes, pedal up to a point without bikers then slice your feet into them and secure them. Simple as that. And Aero bikes are the best, you need to ride one to love them.

  • triathletes pee on themselves...nuff said
