I still watch this movie @ least once a month.....first saw it when I was 10. By far the greatest Stallone movie and nobody gets killed by him......only 1 accidental death. AWESOME !!!!!
Cops are a bunch of pussys who hide behind badges and National guard is a bunch of drunk retards with guns. Solid Fact. It's army veterans like Rambo who are the real heros.
@BlackShot0wnageHD yes but this movie isnt rocky is rampo. But i think Rock 1 - Amazing Rocky 2 -Amazing Rocky 3 - amazing Rocky 4 - Amazing Rocky 5 - Amazing Rocky 6 - Amazing
when i was watching this movie i cant imagine the pain rambo was going through, with hatred and pulling guns on him like he's the bad person in which wasnt and plus he lost it because he thinking they were the enemies and the way he was treating like a prisoner.when i saw will trying pull a gun and making psychopathic faces at him, it just make me sick to my stomach, he's was nothing but a bully and cold blooded human being, im glad he got what he deserved at the end.
@MercuryRanger83 Took the words right out of my mouth. "Vagrancy" laws are BS. Punishing the poor for the fact that they are poor. The Bible warns against that. Some people are poor cuz they're mixed up. They aren't criminals. They're just mixed up, and the last thing they need is someone "pushing them around". Others are poor because they're lazy. But since it's hard to make a distinction between the two, we should repeal vagrancy laws.
Who wins in a fight Stallone as John Rambo(First Blood), Schwarzenegger as John Matrix(commando), Norris as Maj. Scott McCoy(Delta Force) Answer Trick question because Chuck Norris played all of these characters himself and everyone knows in a battle Norris vs Norris vs Norris the universe instantly implodes leaving only Norris
@thevster1603 Back then, the media was largely anti-war and pro-communist. It's similar today as well. Even hippies chose to blame the soldiers rather than the politicians that send them in the battle in the 1st place. My parents were Vietnamese and saw how brutal the VC/NVA was. After the Saigon fall down in 1975, the VC/NVA were shooting all the innocent civilians on the streets. rounded them up, take to a prison and shot in execution style.
The first 20 minutes or so of this movie has more of a uniqute TENSION than any other movie I can think of. It captures that "feel" of an oppressive government like no other film I've ever seen. We can see this stuff happening all around us in the USA now and full-blown socialism seems right around the corner. But to put this shit into a 1982 setting under Reagan's watch is really weird to know that this communist shit lurks in the smallest cracks even in the USA back then.
Although Im female and I dont like normally total action movies I liked this movie. Saw it as it was new in the cimena. I was 15. LIked it so much that I watched it 2 times. Rambo is the underdog, you can feel with him. The music is great, the tension is high. I felt this fresh nature ... It is just a "man against man/men" movie but has something special. The other movies from this series are totally different and has not this special feeling. Greetings from Germany
@thevster1603: As a Nam vet I will try to explain.If I remember well, the book states that sheriff was a Korean war vet, and could not understand why those who fought with him were not recognized as heroes. Some people have called the Korean War the forgotten war. As you may know, the war was very unpopular and the nation was divided. There were protests everywhere. And when we came back, we were discriminated, harassed and treated as baby killers. No warm welcomes at airports. I particularl
This has to be one of the best movie adaptations of a book; despite some characters' roles reduced, toned down violence and Rambo being more heroic then a cold blooded killer. Otherwise, it's a great translation!
I bought the Rambo Triology (with Survival Mode) from walmart for 17 bucks with the first 3 Rambo movies & all I watch is First Blood because to me that was the best one & it sounds AWSOME on my 5.1 surround sound & sly gave one hell of a performance.
Sly himself has said that he considers this to be the best performance of his career. I'm sure many people would agree with him....................many would agree.
they're actually making a remake of first blood. the cast will include Robert Pattinson as Rambo, Hulk Hogan as Colonel Trautman, and Shia Lebouf as Sherrif Teasle
And the bridge where he crosses in the city of Hope, BC Canada might be torn down. Apparently it has some kinda fungus/bacteria that is leaking into the river below that is toxic. Stallone and others are trying to save the bridge
fav part. he puts his knife to the sheriffs throat and says, "I could of killed you, i could have killed them all." I also love it when he kills the dogs. I dont understand why cops think their dogs are so dangerous. if you will turn around and fight a 100 pound dog, and thats a big dog, dosent stand a chance agaisnt a 200lb man. a man can bite and claw too. kill the mutt but i know you get in serious crap for that too.
It made good social comment,what do you do with these men who have been trainned to be aggressive,when the conflict is over?Keep them in a cabinet with a sign saying "In case of war break glass."I see so many injustices done against our own troops who come back from where ever go to a pub ,some idiot picks on them and they go into autopilot and end up in trouble with the law.Soldiers should be respected and helped when they return.
that cop is yr boss, it's yr school bully , the average idiot in the road , those mountains is the struggle between u and nature. This is the best adventure movie ever made after this sylvester stalone failed miserably
YOu know, I don't give a shit what anybody says, i know the difference between an aquired taste and cheesey. This movie is bad fucking ass. There could be no remake to capture the intensity that Stallone emitted. YOu care about something and want to see it made right, and get it's justice you do that. And that's just what sly did with this one.
@oldsweetpea88 I couldn't agree more. Today they would have Shia LeBouf or Vin Diesel as Rambo, kung fu drop kicks and video game special effects. Stallone and Dennehy made this movie!
I never got this movie...these cops pick up some homeless guy and randomly start beating him and holding him for no apparent reason...then they wonder why he "snaps."
@Ishbu101 Homeless people are not always treated with respect and dignity. Many homeless in America are war veterans. Small town cops can sometimes be douche bags. What's not to get?
@Ishbu101 Of course it was exaggerated, It's a movie. If Rambo walked into the town and the cops didn't give him a hard time to cause him to flip out there wouldn't have been a reason to watch it. The message of this movie is the most important reason to see it. "WAR IS HELL"
@mymovienerd - I have a hard time feeling sorry for "homeless people." - Face it, with ALL our social programs today, most homeless people are on the street because that's where they want to be.
I like the scene where the dog handler is crying for the dogs Rambo killed. Hey idiot, you sent those dogs to their graves. Because the sheriff and his jackass deputies weren't man enough to look for Rambo themselves. If a dog was attacking me, I'd kill it too. Kill or be killed.
What stands up to First Blood today? Nothing. Awesome flick with a great plot that naturally progresses, but doesn't bore you with predictability. Stallone and Dennehy are great.
Hey, Hollywood, you're doing it wrong. Movies are supposed to PROGRESS, not regress. The past 15 or so years have been complete bullshit. These days, Rambo would be some pussy-assed pretty boy who'd halt running in the woods for a couple seconds. Not because he has to catch his breath, but because he broke a nail.
What I didn't know about this movie is that Rambo isn't the badguy. In this movie, the Sherriff is the badguy cuz he was the one who pushed Rambo's buttons. If he hadn't pushed him, Rambo wouldn't have snapped and there would be no conflict or incident. I guess its just clear to say that the Sherriff is a good example of a person whose lacking of common sense.
At least there is somebody who does something for some reasons whom he believes to be right. But men rather justify their action in front of themselves than rethink it with reason.
@VannevarBush Good point. And Sherriff Teasle is a good example of a person whose lacking of common sense. If you think about it, it boggles the mind how he even ended up as a Sherriff to begin with. But at least he got what was comming to him at the end for causing Rambo so much trouble.
Teasle was in the Korean war, as far as I can remember the book. Those veterans have made a completely different experience when they came home. There were no protests, but they have been forgotten for what they have done. He is a typical example of that generation which simply couldnt understand the vietnam vets. You should also read the book. It is different at some parts but still recommendable.
Nobody will burn in hell, for there is no hell yet. Hell is about to come upon us soon and will not differ between good and evil, guilty and innocent, because all those terms are meaningless for the goddess.
i wonder if will teasle survived the funny thing is that i thought that murdock from part 2 was teasle hahahaha then i said wait teasle is not blond hahahaha but that was when i didn't know much about the rambo movies
I can personally say that I'm obsessed with this movie. I loveee it, it's soo sweet. & I think Sylvester Stallone is freakin' hott which makes the movie that much more enjoyable -3-3
I could have killed 'em all, I could kill you. In town you're the law, out here it's me. Don't push it. Don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe. Let it go. Let it go
Rambo: I could've killed them all. I could've killed you. In town your the law, out here its me. Don't push it. Don't push it, i'll give you a war you won't believe. Let it go. Let it go.
This movie is absolutely awesome, I've never seen the actual movie before until today. Those dirty cops should of known better not to fuck with Rambo.

If he hadn't pushed him, Rambo wouldn't have snapped and there would be no conflict or incident. I guess its just clear to say that the Sherriff is a good example of a person whose lacking of common sense.

@MDthornton83
You are absolutely right. But don t forget one thing: In reality .. there are no bad guys.

@VannevarBush True. But there is such thing as the persecuter and the victim being persecuted.

@MDthornton83

@VannevarBush Oh thank fucking god!! I thought I was gonna burn in hell for molesting all those little kids. Let the party continue!

@verbalbile
Nobody will burn in hell, for there is no hell yet. Hell is about to come upon us soon and will not differ between good and evil, guilty and innocent, because all those terms are meaningless for the goddess.
