I was using computers when I was 6, and teaching my cousin (who was literally twice my age) how to fix problems, as well as my speech teacher (who was 3 or 4 times as old as me.)

What the heck! I used to go on the computer when I was four years old that was how I learned how to spell and write. And I owned in computer class. Lol

The reason is most likely because they want their kid to use the same kind of computer as they have. Having a kid learn how to use a mac and then coming home to use a PC could confuse them.
