  • What are the differences between a regular 2.0 block and a magnum block?

  • wat neons did the magnum motor come in?

  • They come in the second gen R/Ts and ACRs. The blocks are the same as the regular neons, what changes is the intake manifold, head, springs and cam. The manifold has two sets of runners, a long set for lower RPMs and a short set for high RPMs. The head have a redesigned exhaust ports for a beter flow, the intake ports are basically the same. The cam is compare to a crane 10.

  • Actaully, the rods and pistons are supposedly different. They are made out of the same material as the SRT-4 pisons. They will handle around 300 WHP before popping, the only problem is the higher compression (9.8:1).

  • Where do you get your info? The only difference I know between the pistons in all the SOHC neon engines is that the pistons in the 03 and up are slightly dished.

  • The 03-04 R/T pistons weren't dished, they kept the same 9.8 compression. I don't have an exact link, but on a neon board I'm part of (fuck you youtube for not letting me link) you can search and find it out. I'm sure if you called mopar and asked for the part numbers they would be different.

  • I have personally seen them and they're dished.

  • R/T models from 01-04 are flat top, just like the 95-02 pistons. They are made out of the same material as the SRT rods and pistons. You can not believe me if you want, but it's truth.

  • A quote from somebody who really knows his neons. " The rods might be the same, but the pistons are different--Magnum pistons have a friction-reducing coating on their skirts. I don't know if they're made from the same grade of steel as the SRT pistons...but I doubt it. SRT pistons are made to be turbo pistons and can hold 300+ horsepower and torque under warranty. The Magnum (or base) pistons are not manufactured as such."

  • @chainis18 there flat. i can send you a picture if you'd like i just did a head job and new cams in a 99 neon. the pistons are flat top not dished.

  • @nowelsy only sohc neon pistons are flat, dohc motor has domed pistons

  • to bad you opened the headed, i wish myturbo neon sounded like that

  • damn lol
