It's not just parents. The look on my sister's face after they finally loaded her onto the stretcher and brought her downstairs is burned into my brain and will be there until the day I die.
When I watched them roll her out of the house, I had no idea if she'd come back alive. I got suddenly sick and couldn't eat until I knew she was okay.
My heart breaks for their parents - what a nightmare to find your sons like that...... I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'm sooo glad they both recovered, and if I were those parents I would have turned my grief into pure anger and sued the hell out of that community pool owner.
If the first boy who was electricuted, why did he carry an electrical current? Lightning is electricity and lightning-strike victims do not carry such a current.
@saymour7ramdin since the lightpost is on the ground u can get eletricuted easily if u have water on u and also if u notice there is a plug at the bottom of the post which could be another reason.
@Drewdrop306 i myself wants to know ...how did the lamp-post could have electrocuted them? they did not mentioned how it happened..i watched this a million times & can't figure it out
there could have been a shorted out wire in the inside of the pole. Most lamposts like that are metal. So shorted wire+metal lamp casing= electrified casing
The hot wire for the light may have been exposed, possibly due to bad wiring or poor condition of the wiring and/or wire insulation, and somehow contacting the exterior metal of the post, energizing it; ground fault.
The kid got in contact with the post while wet and standing on a concrete surface. With a fault causing the metal exterior of the post to become energized, he provides a path to ground for the electricity, resulting in shock.
A light post is really dangerous. Justin got it so bad because his back, neck and head were right againt the post. they were both wet from the pool and the light post is electric and..water and electricity...dont mix. not well anyway.
I'm so glad the electrical regs in Britain are so tight, this could never happen now as any installation without proper protection is now illegal
also that idiot DID NOT KNOW where his main braker was! thats just criminal - you need to know where your gas and electric isolators are and keep them clear so you can get to them
Perhaps, allgood, you or BeatleMoe could tell me what the name of that episode is and where it took place. Either it's 'Pool Neighbor Save: Burlington Vermont' or the first segment in episode 621 that took place in Flower Mound, Texas. Anyway, please upload both of them. You or BeatleMoe. Sorry to bother you. And upload the Next segment in this episode.
@ZMommaL56 The drowning episode you are talking about is "Pool Neighbor Save" in Burlington, Vermont. It was part of Episode 519. BeatleMoe already uploaded the next segment from this episode. If you want to see if a Next segment is up, just search for the same episode number (so for this one, search for "Rescue 911 522").
Thank you. I found it. I was wondering if you or BeatleMoe could upload the drowning in Vermont episode I was telling you about. Not to be a pest. And why would others think you're a nerd when you say 'Not to sound like a nerd'
I'd like to see the episode where a girl I think her name was Paula. She was watching TV with her brothers one was napping. Then her youngest brother was missing. Next door I believe, some children were swimming in their pool and the mother said it was really hot. Then she heard a screaming. I don't know what happened. Maybe the youngest boy drowned or something.
I loved this show as a child because I found it exciting, but I watch it again today and I find myself literally breathless at every episode.
I'm convinced that Rescue 911 is the most moving, and the most important, TV show I've ever seen. I don't know what it would take to return it to TV, but it *must*, somehow.
Looks like the lamp post wasn't earthed, and the live had touched the post. Justin just became another conductor - his brother Jarrod was just simply not aware of the danger, and got zapped too. Normally AC current will throw you away, I'm surprised it didnt happen here. DC on the other hand is damn nasty, you cant let go. Poor kids.. :(
How were they stupid? The first one had no idea that the lamp-post was dangerous, the second one went into panic and that's what you would do if you saw your brother being electrocuted so the first thing that came to his head was 'I have to help him' and he probably didn't know that touching him would cause him to get electrocuted as well. The third one wasn't stupid because he went to tell the parents.
Its not the voltage that kills you its the Amperage and i think houses are on a 60 amp system but it takes less than 1 to kill. Someone please correct me if I am wrong
Dear Inu1294, I asked my mom {since I live with her and not my dad} and she said the same thing. I felt so bad for the brothers dad. I mean to see your'e boys in that kind of shape must have been awful. If you would like to send more comments go for it. I would like to hear from you on more 9-11 episodes!
that was messed up the way he didn't get them both off the pole asap. But If it was me I wouldn't of known to grab their shorts, so they probably would of both been stuck longer.

@seymour7ramdin two possibilities:
GN-cobination and neutral fault
ground fault
the second would hav been avoided by GFCI with 30 or less milliAmps
Paramedic18791 1 year ago
@seymour7ramdin
the post outside should not be electric. I think this is caused by a ground fault.
Paramedic18791 1 year ago
