Moral of the story, don't take paxil unless you actually have severe anxiety and/or depression. If you are having problems months after quitting , it's called relapse, not withdrawal.. I'm sick of all the whiny people saying "I've been feeling like crap, after I quit turkey now on day 14". Trying taking the drug for 10 years, quitting for 6 months, and then realizing the withdrawal symptoms are gone and what you have is called a relapse.

I'm on Paxil and I don't have any of the problems I've been reading on various posts.Paxil saved my ass.It's a God send.Before Paxil ..that was the nightmare.I'm in controll now and in a better head space.Even if it is a pill so be it.I think that Paxil just does not work for some people.It does for me and I thank modern medicine for it.

Bullshit, when i was on paxil last year for 4 months i had beautiful dreams !! It started after 2-3 weeks of using. Firstly very often almost every night, later it was rare few times a week than few in months. In the end of my "therapy" everything back to normal and i had usual dreams. Those dreams vere incredible! I was waiting to go to sleep!! when it stopped i was so mad that few times i took another 20mg of Paxil :)

i think these kind of post are so dumb.really. you should not scare people with anxiety and depression, because they are already scared and hopeless. besides, you should talk about everything with your doctor and my doctor said all the truth about Seroxat, it's good drug and people are not willing to believe. although, i'm suffer from 3rd depression episode, i used cipralex 1st and 2nd time and it wasn't that good like seroxat. I'm using now Seroxat 30mg daily and i'm much better now. ;]

Spot on. I began to suffer extreme sleep paralysis after coming off Paxil - the withdrawal itself was hellish for months, but the sleep paralysis (which occurs 3 times out of 5) has never gone away, even after 5-6 years, and sometimes it can be terrifying.

I stopped cold turkey. From 40 mg to zero, after over 10 years use. May 4, 2010 marked 1 year since my last Paxil. It was a nightmare ... and I'm damned glad I did it.

When you want off paxil, the safest way is to taper it SLOWLY. Docs say you can taper 5mg/week, but a realistic taper is 10% every 3-6 weeks. This means a taper from 40mg may take 18 months or longer. Sucks hardcore, yes. If you're sensative to withdrawal, it may be the only way. Course, each person is unique, and time of use is a huge factor. Figure at minimum 10 days taper for each month on.

Well the past month has been, decent from what i can tell.

I cant seem to find any of the withdrawal symptoms.

Ive been off and on with my script of 40mg per day, i try and take it every few days just because if i cant feel them now and all the sudden i go one day past what i normally do i dont want to be suprised to see that bam there they are..

Mind you i have asked my doc i dont want to be on them anymore and he just said i want you on them for a year then if you want off we can talk... Granted if i want off ill tell him NO i want to be off NOW.

But my doc is one of the ones who say no and change the subject, i don't need to deal with the shit so im taking it upon myself.

Its no problem getting 5mg pieces of the 40mg pill, i just need to know what would be a recommended dose per week ect ect and when to tapper down again.

WORST NIGHTMARES EVER on paxil. Was on it for 3 years at the highest dosage, doesnt compare to anything i've ever lived before or after. Missing a day would leave me with insane panick attacks and all, but the dreams, the dreams are what i'll remember all my life.

Brilliant Video! I was put onto Seroxat at 14,resulting in very morbid thoughts, paranoia, nightmares & bad physical side affects. When I took myself of them my mental and physical health actually improved. It took a while to get rid of the side affects even after a few months of being completely clean of the drug, but god was it worth it to be free from them.

I understand everyone's different and there are people out there who believe it has helped them, but this is just my experience anyway.

It is pretty rare that one feels better when they quit paxil,

unless one didnt take it very long to begin with.

For the most partThe longer you take them, the harder they are to get off.

Thanks for replying, I was on it for 2 years, they gave me dark thoughts about mutilation and nasty physical affects,coming of them was bad, even when I stopped completely it took months for the side affects to die down so it did take a long time for me to,I just meant that when the withdrawal did ease my morbid thoughts reduced and physical health improved so I couldn't help but feel a relief for being free of them.

Paxil (ssris) actually increase serotonin in the brain.

When you quit paxil the serotonin levels drop! "Low levels of serotonin are associated with unstable/abnormal body temperature, depression,crying fits,rage,

Everyone experiences different adverse effects both on and trying to get off of paxil.

Withdrawal gave me disturbing hallucinations in a very real sense.

Waking in the morning during daylight gave me feelings of
