I love the fact that we are okay with driving our cars and trucks and destroying the environment over a long time, but when we damage the environment in one swift actions, such as with an oil spill, we are so in-tune with the damage we are causing.
Drive drive drive-make more cars invite more immigrants-and drive drive drive-the big party is on-drive drive drive-party make more people drive wooo party for humans big free for all -drive drive drive.
If mechanical excavation this close to a high-pressure pipeline is being carried out without someone from the pipeline company directing it, the excavation is illegal. If the pipeline rep was on-site, he has some explaining to do, but I didn't see any KM trucks in the video footage...Call Before You Dig, Wait the Required Time, ALWAYS FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OF A PIPELINE COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE. If they aren't on-site - DON'T DIG!! It's that simple.
I think they should send the cleanup bill to the CIA. After all, we could have had a published book of all the pipelines, which would have made this incident easily avoidable, but I've heard the CIA blocked the publication of the book 30 years ago on "national security" grounds. I don't feel very secure with oil spilling into rivers.
even before KM knew who was responsible they offered to pay for all the damages that we're caused, and star your WRONG, wasnt the same company that had this mishap in CA, KM was an american based company until they bought out Terasen Pipeline which is now their canadian branch of their company and at the time of the mishap in CA they did not own terasen pipeline so this isnt the same company as it was in CA, might wana know your facts before you post
argh i hate seeing people bash KM like this when they dont understand this whole mishap, the worker for the city of burnaby said that when he was digging he thought he hit a rock so he kept digging and it was actually the pipelilne, plus he didnt even dig on the right day, not even in the right spot,
The houses will not have to be demolished. I know 2 homeowners and their homes will be repaired. Yes the fumes are lethal in large quantities and give screaming headaches if you are exposed for more than an hour. There is always room for new info and it comes in every day. The beaches are being cleaned by crews now, I was @ Barnet Marine Park today (31st) and there are 20 - 30 people currently working at one of the 3 out fall areas affected.
WRONG!!! the "culprit" was NOT the excavator... the company responsible for this outrageous abuse of our environment has had many such "mishaps" in the past and should be made to close shop after paying for ALL the damage, including all the ruined homes and houses that will now have to be demolished, not to mention all the families that will remain forever unable to garden or even grow flowers... stupid does not even begin to cover this fully preventable catastrophe.
Um, it sounds reasonable enough: there's a photo so we know the excavator was on the scene. You didn't provide any facts... how is it that the excavator is not responsible?
