Well, I agree, but I think it's more like Wayne proved through the mix tapes he was the best or at least top 3 easily, but EVERYone wanted a piece of him. So, with the Carter III he commercialized a lot. Right now he's on everything you hear on the radio after years of dropping tracks that mainly didn't reach the air waves. He choose to "Autotune" and collaborate and it's helped him get a lot more play, but he's sacrificed a lot of his more impressive lyricism.
