I just found this video. Mine are all grown up too. My youngest will be 17 this year. I can't believe how fast it went by too. What I miss most is storytime before bed. They used to cuddle close and fall asleep before the story ended. If I knew now how precious those times were....and yes I too have seen the school signs and wished mine were still little. I am blessed with great kids and they never give me trouble. I have a huge Disney movie collection and have managed to save a few favorite to
WOW You just made me take a walk down memory lane Nancy! Thankyou. I remember something my stepchildren liked more than anything during bath time and that was " bath crayons " They LOVED writing all over each other and themselves. I was just glad it was soap lol. The identical twins are now 20 & the younger one is now 17. I rarely rarely see them since their father & I split up over 5 yrs ago now. I "mothered" those girls since the youngest one was about 9 months old! I can't believe she's 17
Nancy, I have 3 and 6 year old boys, so I am at a different stage of life than you. But I know the feeling of hoping that what we teach them stays with them. My prayer in life is that my boys grow up to be men of God. Blessings to you and keep up the good work. Your videos are so enjoyable and you are such an inspiration!
I understand nancy. My son, (only son) is a senior this year. I want him to be productive, and follow his dreams, but I still am not ready to let go. I miss him already.
Oh Nancy, I'd like to give you a big hug, I know how you feel. I am the only one who goes to church in my family and my daughter went to Christmas Eve service with me but is still "sorting out" what she believes. My son, my mom, my brother, etc. are adrift. I can only pray and hope I can be a good example. I try to picture them in God's hands since I can't do it all. You are an inspiration to me~
While you speak, nancy, your eyes shinne beautifully and anyone can see how much love you feel for Daniel. How many mothers cares about spiritual guidance? Its amazing the way you feel.
Not going to church doesnt mean Daniel may not have god in his life. Its the same person I guess, only now he make his own choices..but the god he learnt from you Im sure will remain with him forever. God never allow us forget about him once his seed is growing in our hearts.
Happy Birthday to Daniel, hope it was a good one!
Nancy; I know how you feel, I brought mine up in church and had to face the day that she stopped going. The scriptures tell us to Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. I'm still holding on to that and see the signs that herfaith is returning. God is truly good!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on children growing up, the empty nest so to speak and the mourning or grieving we experience. Thanks for sharing about the church attendance. All my babies did this but one went back to church at 19 and is still active. He is 32 now.
Nancy, you really bless my life. I consider you my friend although we have never met. Happy Birthday, Daniel!!
I have two children, both still attend church. BUT, it took my son a while to come back to the church. I just embraced and loved him no matter what. Eventually, he made his way back round.
Whoops....see I'm rambling too , my comment was too long lol. Hang in there....we get to do it all again with grandchildren :)
