Yes he did rip the guy off, but he didnt have to sell them. He could have very easily said i dont like your offer and just kept the cards or sell them to someone else. Its not mr. mints faught that the guy didnt know anything about them.
haha, what a joke. Just like the time in 1992 Mr. Rosen put a full page FOR SALE add in SCD for hundreds of the newly discovered Tango Egg cards, and he didnt even own a single one of them. He did it to see what the demand would be before he bought them. Thats the type of guy this clown is. To the advanced collector he is a laughing stock and a complete joke!
ive been a dealer for 15 years and if a dummy wants to sell me his stuff for nothin, im gonna take it for nothin. if 2 grown men walk away happy, whats the problem? the guy sellin is the dumbass, not the guy buyin.
@perch712 id never buy from you ...there is kids out there ..do u take advantage of them too?..do u open case boxes and wait for the case hit then sell the other boxes ? i bet u do u scammer
" I made the discovery"....BULL SHIT, they freakin' fell in your lap you cheap SOB.
"I promised him 20% but I only gave him 10% because there were too many cards"....what the hell does that mean? You basically stole them from the guy, they should have your picture on the post office wall.
eBay completed just destroyed Mr. Mint's income. The only people who sell to him are suckers you don't have computers. A chimpanzee can get card worth on eBay now.
Hey Will.. The reason why the value goes up when this many cards enter the market is this.. They were all mint cards. Once Rosen put them into the marketplace, he raised the asking price. They were selling for $5k. He publicizes this find and now asks $8k.. Now when they sell for $8k they are now worth more. Just like the famous Wagner which is now worth $3m because each time it was sold it was sold for more than previous and each sale was publicized. Thats how they are worth
This find is abslutely true. It took place in the middle 80's. At the time, a '52 Mantle was selling for about $3k - $5k. there was no PSA grading or anything like that. This find is the reason that Mantle rookies are as expensive as they are. One thing everyone is forgetting about selling to Mr. Mint, if your not comfortable with the price he gives you, you don't have to sell to him.. Is he a jackass, sure he is. but he is one of the best businessmen in the hobby.
Whoever the guy is that sold those Mantles to Mr Mint is an idiot and has about zero knowledge of the value of what he has. I seen Mr Mint at a show once that was well promoted and people were laughing at him for the low ball prices he was offering. I watched him sit there all day and just count the cash he had on him. I think he may have bought from 2 or 3 people all day long. What a joke. Why would anyone sell any decent vinatage to this guy..Because he can pay $10K on $500K in value
Good ol' Mr. Mint just told me he WAS NOT interested in a totally legit find of MINT '52's that I came into the past 2 years. 50 rack packs of Topps cards, with ALL sorts of stars showing, like Mays-Mathews-Robinson - 2 Pafko's, dozens of high numbers!- Berra and more. He didn't believe me. I can't believe that he challenged me! His loss. BIG time loss!

Update: I now have 58 rack packs of MINT '52's. TOTALLY legit. Stars and high series cards showing on most packs. They were made by a third party using Topps overstock. I completely remember these from the 60's when I was a kid. For Mr. Mint to blow me off the way he did was a disgrace. The biggest card shop owner in L.A. was blown away by my stuff. He thought my Mathews pack would fetch 13 to 20 thou. I also have 500 MORE packs from '53 through '62. Many Mantle's showing-
Al did nothing wrong, the guy knew exactly what he had and what he was doing. He negotiated a deal based on a catalogue value and sold the cards, the rest is history.
You put money in people's faces and they don't think. This guy got creamed like Mrs. Lou Gehrig seling her husband's uniform for a case of scotch to the very limited partner of the Yankees. SCD showed the poor souls holding their munny next to Mr. Mint after he just cleaned their clocks in his ads....they all looked very uneducated and totally lost.
I've seen how he brags about ripping people off in his other videos. What a rotten piece of shit. He makes millions by ripping off desperate old ppl who sell their life-long collections and absolutely gloats about it. I hope that scum bag rots in hell.
from his website....."Purchaser of the Boston, MA 1952 Topps Find, including over 6,000 Gem Mint high numbers of which there were 65 Mickey Mantle rookies. Sotheby's Auction House called it, "The greatest find of baseball cards ever." It's value in the year 2000? Over $15 million!"
ya the guy new what he was doing when he sold them when the money was in his face he didnt care about the total value when you got like thousands of dollers in your hand. He should of sold him half then called him back a couple months later and said i found more. lol. I wonder how much this guy made off of that.
you pounded that guy a new asshole .. shame on you Mr.
