While I don't know if this would be practical in any way, it would look pretty cool. The vast majority of motorcycles are not built for their practical reasons anyways. (What do you actually need a 'busa for?)

I think it can still be called a motorcycle as a bicycle is the term for two wheeled, a tricycle is the term for 3 wheeled. I would think it follows that a motorcycle would simply mean it has a motor. Even if we generally don't think of it that way.

I recommend two wheels up front, and a huge slick on the back. You sit low with your back against the motor, well behind the front wheels. Now you can countersteer any overtorque, and no wheelies.

This is just a stupid design.

Also, the middle wheel should be instead attached to the rear wheel to allow the front wheel to be able to be STEERED if you're in a city at low speeds or just trying to drive out of your garage.

Yes it is scary though when you hit a bump around a turn but we're still here.

I also ride a trike ( can am spyder ) and people think that sucks around turns because it is on three wheels but they are also wrong.

It handles really well and I believe this new inline concept will also do well.

@china1013 ok it would, but the problem is that the power goes to the middle, and that becomes inneffecient for hard throttle, because it would most likely lift off slightly only on that tire causing wear and imbalance... also, this bike is probably much heavier, and that completely offsets what you gain from the extra rubber, stick with two wheels. lol

Ever try to turn a tandem trailer? Difficult isn't it. Try to go around a tight corner with this tandem-trailer-cycle, like a corner where you're nearly vertical and have to turn the bars full-lock. Like turning into a driveway, backing up to a curb, or carving a traffic jam. I want to continue picking this design apart. All this is, is a motorcycle with an articulating wheelie bar. Under hard acceleration the weight transfer will be towards the real wheel, thus limiting the available traction to the driving (center) wheel, this would make for spectacular burnouts! I wouldn't even want to contemplate high speed testing this 'thing' on a country road. What would speed wobble be like? Would it even exist?

The fear of wheelies is what limits a driver's acceleration. If you could give full power, and not flip over, that would be much better.

More weight is a drawback, but the center of gravity is in line with the drive wheel. Resulting in less skidding, and less chance of going into a spin.

I think this thing would be like a rocket on rails in the corners.

I simply don't see the advantage of 3 wheels unless you intend to do a 200 mph turn but in that scenario i don't see any one willing to do something that crazy. This bike has very little added value from the 2 wheel bike maybe a little more traction but thats negligible however the problems are numerous like :Cost, Upkeep, plain out ugly, and its actually quite an unstable design that would very likely crash on the turns in the video

if the back wheel was staying straight it was a wonderful design.. if give to much throttle and your wheel spins out (the center one) the back wheel would still be able to hold the bike on ith place so you would have optimal traction on the track :D

l'impegno per la realizzazione è notevole, esteticamente accattivante, ma non la comprerei mai (credo). quello che mi preoccupa è la distribuzione dei pesi e l'interasse tra la prima e la terza ruota, misura addirittura eccessiva anche per una cruiser!! ed in curva? se le forze in gioco lavorano tra la prima e la seconda, la terza, per curvare, deve derapare, creando dapprima una forza contrastante, e poi sovrasterzare, scomponendo l'assetto. a me pare impossibile da realizzare...
