  • Holy Shit, Its A Nightmare In Camdentown

  • Howdy Matie!!!!

    ARGHH

  • why, why! is there a vid on utube called "Johnny Depp talks about The Clash"...he's just an actor, not god...why the hell would anyone defer to any celebrity for an opinion or be interested in what they say???

  • @carlo88moe

He was also a musician you retard.

  • @zeroeffects88 a hollywood musician retard, meaning as much a musician any one with an insipid whimsy for "playing rock"..like a teenager....bc hollywood stars are gods in our culture, they confuse their "talent" in films for the talent to do anything

  • @carlo88moe He is a talented successful actor, and an extremely talented musician. His opinion is just as valid as that homeless guy living in the alley, but If you were making a movie about someone, would you rather have a successful, well known actor, who's become quite the role model for a lot of young actors, or someone no ones ever heard of?

  • idiot

  • @daniel366 wtf? stupid asshole.

  • why are people complaining about the way he talks? are you fucking stupid? he always talked like this

  • Comment removed

  • jdepp has always been a punk ..used to be my fav...he hated mainstream..this is not surprising he really loved the clash...this is his time..his persona..always has been..box office star or not...

  • he obviously has taken thought about his opinion here.In my humble opinion.Peace~

  • the clash did not pretend

  • @calboy64 LOL! Yeah they did. All punks/(influenced by punk) pretended to be angry about shit. I love punk music. But yeah, punk rockers are mostly full of shit and hypocritical. Same thing with the Pistols, Ramones the list goes on.

  • My perfect man, right there ^^

  • HA! He says lierics, too! Everyone tells me it'ts wrong when I'm doing that!

  • Johnny D, I want my 24 seconds back!

  • He's so taken with himself it makes me sick.

  • @TomFromJersey Exactly man. That won't be his real voice it'll be put on

  • Is this guy talking about punks lol? Too much of an arty farty explanation for me sounds too much like someone tryna explain a damien hirst artwork. Depp was cool in Pirates of the Caribbean tho.

  • Mr. Depp is paying attention and has good taste. long ago he bought The Central when it was on it's last legs and turned into The Viper room ... even moved next door. he has also helped put out records for bluesman Chuck E. Weiss (Extremely Cool).

  • @kiely It's easy to do that when your rich

  • @cellardoor199991

well in that case feel free to call me when you are either rich or have accomplished anything in this world.

  • music is honesty

  • Is this Johnny Depp interview from a documentary about The Clash?

    Thanks!

  • I think The Clash are THE most important band of all time. Anyone who doesn't like the clash can go die... Johnny Depps alright too I understand whats he means

  • WTF? Mister Depp is right on. I was out of High School when i stumbled onto the Clash. And it was that sincerity Depp mentions that attracted me, and everyone else who fell for them. It was more than the fact that they "were fucking kick ass". Much much more than that...unless you were there, in that time, it's hard to explain.

  • Yea, and that would make for a great documentry: Everyone limiting their answers to "THEY WERE FUCKING KICK ASS."

    Shut up.

  • damn guys chill out

  • clash really kicked ass, who gives a shit about JD??!!

  • What a loser....

  • What accent did he adopt?

  • the pretentious celebrity accent. I think Tom Cruise adopted something similar when he was talking about "Last Samurai"

  • johnny depp is anything but pretencious, you obviously don't know a damn thing about that uncredible guy

  • Ok I'll retract what I said I'll even apologize but you have to tell me what YOU know and think and based on what experience you have. I love his acting I just listen to the way he talks and it is very hard to place the affected accent he is using -my impression because I'm an ordinary nobody is that he doesn't sound like any real people I know so it comes off as pretentious(proper spelling) to me. -granted he is a celeb and in another strata but why TRY to act and sound SO different?

  • @LedSlash71 I disagree, he is pretentious. And you don't know him any better than I do. He also defended Polanski for raping a 13 year old, how's that for your "incredible guy".

  • I always respected his acting. Now I have more respect for the man himself. He said it all in 20 seconds.Don't forget what a great tipper he is.That say's alot about his character.

  • Well all I can say is he has great music taste.

  • dude didn't say a fucking thing. 20 seconds wasted. smart guy talking about one of the most important bands in the world and he said the most milquetoast drivel. lame.

  • you're right! he was talking about the 'proper effect'. What the hell does that mean? And "truth in the attack". What?

  • The proper effect, most likely pertains to the feelings and thoughtfulness The Clash's music invokes in someone, not just some random punk attitude, Joe always said he wasn't for that, but rather understanding that the music is about something, and something real at that, was most important. It would thus have the proper effect.

Also, the truth in the attack, you honestly don't know what he meant?

Any true Clash fan will know what the truth in the attack is.

  • Also, I'm not even trying to defend Mr. Depp, I'm actually defending The Clash here.

  • Dressed like Keef, praising the Clash. Things are all right in the world.

  • Johnny Depp is from Kentucky. Im from Kentucky. Johnny Depp likes the Clash, I like the Clash... I think he's my uncle..

  • you two guys might just be the most intelligent people that has ever lived in kentucky

  • LMFAO AWSOME COMMENT

  • why thank you

  • HAHAHAHAHA!! wait.... DICK!!

  • oh you know its true

  • Will Oldham and Hunter S. Thomson are both from Louisville!

  • scary people in kentucky like the clash?

  • always thought he was a tosser perhaps he aint. .i'll give him a chance. .eh ! dunno for sure. .

  • That was cool.

  • Johnny knows The Clash is the only band that matters! =)

  • This is not rare bootleg, this was made for the film.

  • mythical

  • Fuckin hell, Jack Kerouac, Hunter S Thompson, George Jung, The Clash, and more... I used to think Johnny Depp was a dickhead, but I think you can tell a lot about a person by who their heroes are... Now I think he's brilliant!

  • Can we throw Charles Bukowski on that pile as well?

    Just wondering...

  • i do understand your point of view,, but just because some one listens to the clash doesnt mean hes brilliant,,?? i think you over did it a bit

  • If you read and understood my message you'd understand that I wasnt just talking about him listening to the Clash. He played many roles in abstract movies and done them great justice. And he doesn't just play the parts in movies that'll do well in the box office, he immerses himself in the characters because of the interest he has in them, and in the authors of these stories. I have yet to see him fail to play a role brilliantly.

  • well that's a 100% treu..

  • The fact that he listens to the Clash is just another side of him that I like.... He also plays in a band himself. Did I over do it? No.

  • oh well that explains it,, sorry if i bothered you,, I just was looking for a conversetion,, well i actualy like Johnny depp as an actor,, i knew he had a band but still never heard them play,, do you know how their are calledk??

  • Gotta spk up J.D

  • he's dressed like jack sparrow... jack sparrow loves the clash, lol

  • Nah. I think he's just a smart guy. People expect celebrities to be airheads, and find it shocking when one turns out to be a three-dimensional person.

  • Depp is smart, which is unwanted in actors.

  • @warriorprince1010 stupidly to think smartness is unwanted in actors. What planet do you come from?

  • @warriorprince1010 it's unwanted in anyone, really ;P

  • @SincereCreature the govt is really the only group that doesnt want it, that and idiots themselves.

  • @metal9535 yeah)

  • He is talking about the band The Clash.

  • WTF....

  • Don't get me wrong, Johnny2125, I'm sure they miss him.

I like both men of genius so much, but I don't like the way people saying

"I have to see it, because there is Jonny"...authorization, isn't it? This is not entertaining fiction. A real life story from born to death. That' all.

  • I totally agreed with him about "prpper effect" and "sincerity" of The Clash.

This is a great film, and Clash is great without authorizing like this. It's much more interesting how deep "ordinary people" love Clash! I love them..

  • omg will all u silly girls shut up? do you even know what hes talking about? you probably dont even know who a genius creation like the clash were, not as pretty as ickle lil johnny depp god youre embarrasing grow up

  • Is his leg on fire?

  • Best post ever TomFromJersey: us jersey peeps = funny. But seriously, I couldn't give two farts what Depp thinks of The Clash. I'll give him one fart, just one.

  • Thanks, chief. Bergen County!

    Where you at?

  • Mahwah, brother!

  • mas o menos dice: "supongo el efecto inicial que me provocaron los clash fue el efecto justo, sentia sinceridad no me refiero al las letras sino tambien a la musica habia una verdad en el ataque..."

  • Johnny is right and so is jensoes. Quit discussing his looks and listen to the point he is trying to make.

  • "i love johnny more than you waah wahh he's so hott waaaaah waah" and blah blah fuckin blah! who cares who loves him the most? i to think he's awesome, but quit jabbering and watch the fuckin movie insted! it's called The Future Is Unwritten and is about the profilic lead singer of the clash Joe Strummer, in case you nutjobs didn't read the video description!!!!!!

  • Awesome words my friend..

  • COSA DICE????? TRADUCETE PLEAAAAASE

if anybody understand wtf this idiot is trying to say just let me know..

    R.I.P Joe

  • the clash fucking ROCKED

    forget these stupid pathetic girls

  • OK,everybody is supposed to hate him because he's handsome and famous. The Clash was the band for and of the people.Joe wanted his music to be for everyone, I like both Johnny and the Clash and I see the conection between the 2,Johnny really is a smart man with good musical taste and I believe he met the band, The Clash were"the only band that mattered"singing to us the weirdos and the leftist who want a better world.Don't be judgmental punk rock and it's message is for everyone

  • thank you!

i swear you are the only reasonalble & sane person here!

  • fucking true mate!

  • dont hate because he has a better life than you

  • Thanx, BUCCANEER! - Yeah - the Clash. Great Johnny. I remember. - Anyway, as long as you're reminiscing, tell us about Holly Robinson, SCALLYWAG. She sure has very 'little' to say about yours. I mean, you.

  • very true johnny

  • This is my one problem with the film. Does it really matter what Johnny Depp thinks of The Clash? At least Matt Dillon knew the guy.

  • Johnny did too. Like RudyRules said, his band opened for them a couple of times.

  • I take it back but they should've made that clearer then. In Matt Dillon's interviews it was obvious that they were good friends. John Cusack's as well, even though I do wish they had just stuck to the people involved in the story.

  • Johnny Depp was actually a punk rock fan in the 80's who's band opened for the Clash a couple of times and once nearly had a fight with Iggy Pop.

  • man guys guys guys, lets just watch the film and give respect to Joe Strummer as fans, screw the stars who don't know jack shit about The Clash or The Mescaleros, or probably even Joe Strummer , I mean, in the end we're the ones that'll miss the guy the most, not them!

  • Don't they have the right to speak? They are as much humans as we are!

And, by the way, I don't think you can compare The Mescaleros and The Clash. It's not even the same division!

  • youre an idiot alot of them were his friends...why would they not miss him? you fucking stupid piece of shit mother fucker

  • WOW,learn to spell....Sad when you read a comment that doesn't make any sense. No wonder you find this clip so interesting. Please stop posting, go to school..

  • dude its called typing, no one fixes their fucking mistakes or gives a shit about grammar, some of have graduated colledge and are typing worse, and making more mistakes than a fucking 5th grader

  • sum of ys old punkd drunken etyp on this shit bithc callm down, johnny and joey both rock, and i'd know

  • WOA!were is he?

hehe it looks like he's on survivor or sumthing!=]

  • was?

  • your just jelouse because you can't look that good and be sincere.talk about a wanker.

  • cool man! Id like to met him too. he was the fucking coolest person walking on this earth.

  • was?

  • l met the clash in the 80s and spent some time with joe strummer

  • yeah man. hes just trying to appear deep n' shit.

  • hes so full of himself,,,,,and a shit guitar player, who cares what he thinks about anything

  • why the fuck would u watch a video about him if u dont care anout anything?huh?& if hes so full of himself why would he HATE looking at himself in the mirror or in movies?!id really like 2 see you play guitar better than him...no really send it 2 me shitface.mabey you should learn a couple things about someone before you tank on them like that & THAT GOES 4 EVERYONE WHOS CLOSE MINDED!!X0 i hate people like u.

bythy you need 2 get out more there are plenty of people who care about wat he thinks

  • I personally really like Jonny Depp, but Im also interested in what he has to say about Joe, this is footage from "The Future is Unwritten" after all, stop worrying about people saying what a wanker Jonny is, and if you really are a big fan, take in what he's saying, not just his pretty face.

  • ok i dont listen to the clash but i do know about johnny.i really really really hate that some people only care for his looks because he's beatiful inside & out, no matter for what you think. /mean about what he's saying?

all i hear is that he likes the clash & the effect it had on him?

    wtf's the big deal?

  • you dont even know how to spell his name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .i dont just like him for his looks i like him because he is the only celbrety with some decincy and respect!

    btw its spelt Johnny Depp

I am the type of fan that feels why fight over who likes Johnny more, no I feel that we should be glad that other people like him too! and share information about what you like about him and things like that!

    also this is JOHNNYXXDEPPXXROX

  • he speaks poetry

  • youre just saying that cause you love Jonny Depp, I bet you dont even know what the fuck he's talking about

  • Yes I do. Why are you being so mean to me I did'nt do a thing to you!

  • I knew there was a deeper reason why I loved Johnny Depp

  • *Jack Sparrow talks about The Clash

  • does two dots really matter that much?

  • yeo boooi fuckin clash yes

  • Why is Depp here? Johnny Depp appears in a Aki Kaurismaki movie called "L.A without a map" and Kaurismaki and Joe Strummer were close friends, Joe Strummer appears in Kaurismaki movie called "I hired a contract killer" Depp and Strummer has both worked with Shane McGowan and the Pogues too..

  • I would have much rather seen paul simonon interviewed. Thanks for explaining why johnny deps on this film jebisemajmune.

  • Can't wait to see this film!

And to all those bashing Depp; you will NEVER be half as cool as he is...deal with it. ;)

  • he was a bestman to paul simonon while he was in relationship with kate moss i think ...... he probably meet joe and mick aswell so he's not just some guy talking about some band......

  • He is also godfather to Paul's children, I believe.

  • Regardless of his personal connections with the Clash, he does come off as just some guy talking about some band. He doesn't really seem to add much to the documentary, other than some sort of "cool guy" banal comments about the Clash. If he wasn't a celebrity, I don't think Temple would have included him. At least he other celebrities in the film had some interesting stories to tell - Steve Buscemi in particular.

  • how can you take him seriously when he looks like a pirate.

  • lol

  • cos he was probably in the middle of filming pirates of the caribbean you twat

  • Why is this guy in the movie ? He's got nothing to tell. He's just saying things anyone could say about any band.

  • not just any band, he was talkin about the clash. The best band that have walked the face of the earth. Search thte clash on youtube and im sure ull find thousands ov other ppl who agree

  • yeah all 20 seconds you can really see him for what he really is.sure.

  • HOW?

  • i dont get what hes talking about

  • Agreed.
