Truth is truth. Absolutely incredible and inspiring video - I start UPT at Laughlin in 4 weeks. I like the way you think - can draw a lot of inroads to your mindset and mine albeit our backgrounds are completely different
Right on man. I'm former Army and working on my next life adventure. It's hard to stay focused when things don't move at the pace you want, but you gotta keep your eyes on the prize. I'm a relatively new viewer but I'm proud to say I'm a TNPer.
Obama passed a bill called national defense authorization act or NDAA that takes effect in 2013. It puts the U.S. under martial law and gives the president and military the power to arrest anyone without a trial and hold them indefintely. It basically gives the government tools to make sercert police
Unfortunately, we live in a lowest common denominator society. Everyone does everything they can to rip off everyone else, to steal, to lie, to cheat, and to generally do as little actual work as possible. I am completely broke because at job after job after job I have worked as hard as I could and I have played by the rules. In doing so, i was very much an outcast. I was always the only person not robbing the place, etc. People HATED me because I worked my ass off, and they always will.
and now further along in the vid you say "my wife and I lived off of $700 every 2 weeks" like it's a bad thing. I wish...the last artist I recorded, my partner and I got paid 62 cents an hour for 3 months of work. I will never, ever, in a billion years make $700 in 2 weeks. I guess this vid is for perfect people who can laugh in the face of people who actually put 130 hours of week in and never, ever get paid for it.
While I like that you take time to try and help others, keep in mind that the only people who ever say things like this are people who live near-perfect lives. When you were 10, you were hanging out with your USAF dad and his buddies...when I was 10, I was severely addicted to huffing inhalants and got daily beatings from my parents every day after school (where I got beat on all day anyway).
When you grow up the way I did, the only answer to where will you be in 10 years is "jail" or "dead".
You have hit upon a key success factor for life or business. I used to use this in my career. Pick a future time (5-years-10years-etc). Where do you want to be? picture yourself at that time. What do you wish you would have done to get there? Then: DO IT NOW. It helps one to focus.
This is probably the best Video i've ever seen on Youtube. Thank you so much for it. You are truly an inspiring person! Keep on doing the great work and thanks again for everything!
@tangokilla11 to me you proabably have to be able to take high speeds going up and down know how to fly be smart take it seriously...im looking to be a usaf pilot as well so ive done some research
As a side note though, one big thing I had to overcome was the fact my father instilled in me the fact that it was a pipe dream to ever be a pilot. To this day he regrets ever telling me that but after my junior year in HS, he worked his ass off to help me with my dream to be a pilot. Got accepted to USAFA and decided against going there (two cousins went there, said it wasn't worth it) and opted to just go into AFROTC. Again, this was a damn good video Nutn. Thanks for serving, btw.
Hey nutnfancy, you'll probably not read this comment but I'll just like to say that this is an excellent video. I did exactly what you did as a child and I was also surrounded by USAF planes just like yourself (Father, CMSgt in the USAF and served 28 years, all as maintenance) and I also had friends who supported me in HS for my dream to be a pilot. Currently a sophomore in college with a 4.0 GPA with a major in Chinese and in AFROTC, hopefully my dream DOES become reality.
One of my favorite life philosophy videos! It really made me think about how I need to be living to impress myself! I actually used some of what you said in my post high group at church! Awesome stuff Nutn keep it up
. Im about to get out of highschool and i hope to see myself as a firefighter in ten years but everyone keeps telling me that its really hard to get the job and its almost like you need to know someone to get accepted. I dont know if its even worth trying because if i go to college and get my emt and fire science degree and cant get signed on to a station its going to be a big waste of time and ill have all this schooling that i cant use. Do you think i should try?
@BottlecapAnonymous no way. I went to the best music school in the world (berklee) right out of high school. In high school, i was making $400/wk playing music. By the time I got out of music school. all the gigs had dried up and I haven't made any money with music since. that was 10 years ago. Biggest regret of my life as this school had no girls, no parties, no sports, nowhere to even work out and blow off steam. I learned a lot but it destroyed me mentally. Go to a party school and get laid.
Hey Nutn, I haven't commented in a while, but still part of the project... Just gotta say: this is a great vid. Honest wisdom. Can't help but realize; I'm on my way, crossroads in the rearview, and many ahead... Never arrive! Feels good to see you so smooth and relax, you look happy man... You deserve it. Your work means a lot to me.
You truly are a remarkable human being. There may be people that are more talented, and better than you in 24 different categories. But they will never out-work you.
I don't know how you do it, but I'm motivated to get to that level every time I see a video in my subscriptions.
Live to impress God. He gave us life and wants to bless us. I've lived with and without God and the difference is huge.
My life has more purpose, is more meaningful and peaceful. I still have the same interests. First, my family, then hunting, fishing, camping, shooting, reloading, scuba diving, motorcycles, Paramedic work, etc. Life is as exciting as it can get, and God makes everything even better. He made me a far better person & needs to be at the center. He can make goals become reality.
@romansten9 You do realize that the best way to get your kids raped is to send them to church, right? A place filled with sociopaths like you who talk to themselves and imaginary beings.
I get the basic concept and agree with it. Set goals, cultivate your vision, strive to achieve and become better, etc.
These concepts are good, but can't become the PRIMARY motivation in life. For believers in God (specifically Christians) theres a higher calling. Yes, God wants good things for us, but He needs to be at the center of it all, and He will give a huge boost to efforts in life. So, live for God and have goals, but be ready if He has something even BETTER. He knows the future.
Awesome stuff. Like musicmanluke said, I needed to hear that as well. Im just getting out of uni here in about 6 months and even knowing what I need to do to get out into the real world it is a scary and daunting process. This vid kinda helped to impress upon me that I can do it as long as I keep working hard, even though I already know this, one more source helps drill the point. Thank you so much Nutn, all of your philosophy vids are great. Love your channel. Best wishes, keep up the good work
In my humble opinion, you didn't lose your father... It's painfully obvious to me... He's still right there next to you... (& even pouring out of you...) Watching this was a real wake up call & punch in the gut for me... Powerful. Thank you...
Nutnfancy this video does mean alot to all of us watching it, I've wanted to be in the military to become a helicopter pilot, and i'm chasing my dream and your key points make so much sense. Thanks alot for this. And you have great sucess. Shows that you really can do what you believe in if its really what you want and try hard enough.
In ten years I hope to make Chief pettyofficer. To be the Branch chief of my division. To be leading my sailors in Airplane maintenance. Nutnfancy I can see you are a flyer, never forget your ground crew. Take it easy.
Awesome stuff. I'm currently at a point of my life, some people call it the crossroads, whereby I have to make really important/big decisions that will decide my future and your video has motivated me and has taught me some important life lessons. I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
Wow man awesome video. I just got out of the Marine Corps, 6 months ago and I loved being a marine greatest experience of my life but there was just something missing so I got out after 5 yrs and I'm in the process of finding my next goal in life. I'll be implementing what u spoke about in this vid to get me there. Thanks
Nutn, I love this video! I've watched it at least three times by now. Very inspirational :) And where did you get the acoustic music at the beginning? Sounds beautiful. Reply if you can, thanks Nutn!
I'm fairly new to my YouTube account, at least on the mobile version I see no PM function, so here goes. My comment would include this video but it's not specific to it. You seem to be a good person and American, keep it up.
Just watched this for the second time. I rarely go back and use up time watching vids again, but I couldn't get this one off my mind. Thanks Nutn. Inspirational.
It's like you were talking directly to me nutnfancy! and I can relate 100% I've been wanting to fly for the air force since I was really little and right now i'm on my 2nd stage of my vision. I'm an A-10 Crew Chief for the air national guard while going to Purdue University and I plan on becoming a fighter pilot after I graduate.
Thank You Nutn for this great video i am going through some dark times and this video lifted my spirits and make me look past this and see the goals that i have put in front of me so Thanks again
Nutnfancy I want to personally thank you for making this video because I know it is not mandatory of you to make inspirational videos like this. I am currently a student at the University of South Florida and after I graduate I want to become an officer in the Army and go to flight training school. I believe the whole meaning of my life is to become a military helicopter pilot.
This video helped to inspire me to finally move on in some ways in life. Also, to start up this channel too. I've been watching nutnfancy since he had like 8 videos. Thank you for all you've done.
All I ever wanted was to be a firefighter, and people always try shooting me down, Yes i'm only 17 like 5'8 and 120 pounds, but i'm determined to go where I want in life. People shoot me down, and call me weak, but in reality they might be physically strong but they'll always be mentally weak. I've come through so much. my mother has stage 4 cancer, i've been ridiculed for years. I'm not quitting now.
I thank you for this video nutn, you're a true inspiration. Me being a high school senior, I've run into a dilemma of where to go with my life. Most of my friends have a clear cut vision of where they want to go to college and what they want to pursue, and I don't have much of a clue. But your video has brought me to stopping for a second and really analyzing what I'm passionate about and what I want to achieve. It may be a little late now, but I'm creating the vision. Thanks again
And your right nutnfancy people will fail but you got to get up. My Ssgt told me life will push you down and make you feel like crap, and you will want to give up. The question is will you? great vidd!!
good job. In my school kids are fighting throwing there careers away at 15-16 doing drugs. me being 19 i am very happy how i went through school stayed out of trouble. people may look down on you and talk behind your back but later on down the road your dreams will come true if you stay motivated.“To go against the dominant thinking of your friends, of most of the people you see every day, is perhaps the most difficult act of heroism you can perform.” Theodore H. White my favorite quote.
i really needed to hear the things you said in you vid nutn man I have been procrastinating over the last 4 years of my life for one reason or the other and this was a wake up call. thanks nutn
everything he says is so true i have two visions, both military related, 1 being a navy seal they just sem like the coolest guys in the world that do teh coolest hardest stuff and i ve wanted to be one of them for a long time. 2 is being an army nightstalker, that vision is me doing preflight checks on the flight line in a black hawk with an SF team on the way gettin ready to launch... and can you believe my dad is the one that tries to destroy those visions... sometimes life just sucks
@Nutnfancy There is a girl that Im really into but I just dont know if shes the one. Do you think you could maybe do a review. You know go down the talking points fire vs. mobility, POU stuff like that. Pm me and Ill send you her name and address.
I just wanted to say I only just started watching your videos. your words have changed my life. "Live to impress yourself" I know my words arent gonna mean much but yours have truly changed me. I hope you keep doing what your doing for years to come cause your changing peoples lives. Well at least mine. Just wanted to say thank you
So in a nutnshell, stop watching youtube videos, wasting money on guns, ammo and knives and go to work. Nice promo. Dang, and I just tried scheduling another "fun with guns" day with the boyz.
my absolute dream in life is to be a member of the canadian armed forces. but my parents are VERY reluctant to let me take that step and go to a recruitment centre. i can understand how hard it would be for them to let their youngest son move on to an occupation that has many risks. but how can i concince them of my passion to defend my country enough to make them proud when i join? (and i WILL join)
A lot of the "youthful offenders" I attend to (decontaminate from chemical agents, address contusions/abrasions etc) after they have finished fighting over some stupid perceived "disrespect" from other "youthful offenders" would benefit from "Living to impress yourself" instead of living in the false bravado of the gang lifestyle. It all comes down to SELF responsibility for your OWN vision & not trying to impress others nor blame others for your shortcomings. Cheers! P.S. I'm still XOOTRing!
This is one of those, I hope this video is around to show my kids in 5-10years. I doubt I could say it any better than you have. Last Suspect and Tactical-doodle are lucky dudes. Cheers mate and keep up the great work with sincerity and honesty as always.
About to watch for the 3rd time. Taking notes this time. I have really been telling myself "I'm not the guy that does that" for a particular character flaw I have. As simple as that is, it works!!! Also telling myself that I am a patient Daddy when my sons are being difficult, and instead of screaming at them I am TRYING to be patient. Anyway, Another GREAT TNP Vid Nutn'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phenomenal! This was really motivating! I've been stagnant for years, and couldn't figure out why I was depressed. This really opened my eyes! Thanks Nutn!
I love your videos already and after watching this one I kinda see myself in this. Im currently a security guard at a casino and want something better. I wanted to get into law enforcment before ever being in security. I believe that working at the casino is like a small test and a little test for me to push me to make a decision on if I want to be in the police department and how bad I want or don't want it. This video helps me make my decision (that I've already made) that much easier.
call me whatever, but following a Military / Air Force career for you was the natural thing to do, seems like you followed a tradition rather than a vision.
This video really spoke to me. I'm going through what I can only describe as a midlife crisis. I'm reappraising who I am and where I want to be in upcoming years. I want to be stronger, better educated (as an EMT), have survival skill sets that I have only begun to scratch upon, and have a level of security that only reasonable preparation can provide. Your videos help me visualizing who I aspire to become. Thank you for all the time and effort you sacrifice for us.
This is your best video. "Never Arrive" really hits home. I'm 57 and in watching this video I look back to see my vision from my younger days and how I've achieved them with accomplishments that amazes even myself. Thank you again for reminding me to "Never Arrive!"
I really like this video and how it speaks to visions. I wish you elaborated on "regrouping" a little though. My situation was almost a carbon copy of yours. I wanted to be a USAF pilot since I was little, busted my butt through school and ROTC to get a UPT slot... only to have the dream snatched away by flight surgeons two months later. Sometimes we are so focused on that vision that I think "regrouping" is something easier said than done.
Dear Nutn, getting straight to it... In my most sincere words, you are a fantastic human being. I've pulled so much from your vids. From gun and knife reviews to lessons in life, my life has been impacted by your "work". Keep it up man. It's so nice to know that there are still people in this world like you. I'd say us but I also hate "being in front of the camera". I'm gspdogger by the way. You often ask, "what do u hate about TNP?". I say, "Nothing. But, I realy like seeing how you integrate
I`m not american but that does not make me less proud of you, is good to know that the person that i look forward have done his part, i have done my part im my country, you are a priveleged men taking the figthers where they where need, i was in my country special foeces and i look up to you not only in character but as far as knoledge.
Please keep the great work, wish i had that in my country.
I appreciate the effort that went into this video. There is more wisdom in the content of this video than I would ever have expected . I am sure this will help more than a few people with their struggles. Great job.
I don't want to be rude or overstep boundaries but I want to know about nut'n. I have no agenda, it's just curiosity, I don't want to cause trouble so that's my disclaimer over what might be personal? My questions, what were you flying? When he showed me a picture of an f15, that blew my mind. All this stuff about this guy I've been watching, the depth of character. You impress me dude. My other question, why did you retire from what you loved so much and worked to achieve? Your a rich man.
To get what you TRULY want in life, there are no short cuts. For everything that I've achieved, the hard AND smart work is what has carried me to this point. It's not always lollipops and cotton candy for sure bro and can down right be the lowest of the lows. There are some things you just can't prepare for (I'm truly sorry for your families loss Nutn)...and all we can do is do our best to dust ourselves off and keep on keepn' on the best we can.
Im 21 and a cook at Pizza Hut! lol i know its pathetic.... I learned how to shoot my first Chipmunk rifle when i was 4 yrs old, ever since i have been fascinated by how they work and why they are so effective(i own 20 firearms now). I actually tried to join the Army about a year ago but they wouldn't take me because i have some gastro problems. Now i am currently living with my wife, her parents and our beautiful daughter Ivy!
!! nusfancy dude was a fighter pilot????? holy shit.. respect man. awesome. @nutnfancy hey man can civilians fly in a fighter jet? I wanna get a ride a ride on a f/a 37 talon. Is there any way they would let somebody fly in it?
Awesome video. Many great points to think about AND put into practice. Thanks for this! One question though, at the end you mentioned books we should all be reading. Care to elaborate?
I would absolutely love to see you make a video discussing your Air Force career. I had seen rumors on THR that you were a LT Co but wasn't sure. I'm a SSgt ATC watch supervisor at Lajes
Once again, son, you hit the nail squarely on the head. I just want to thank you for getting this out there to steer some folks in the right direction; it's guidance I sorely lacked in my life. If one doesn't do what you advise, one day you'll wake up and realize that now you're sixty years old and wonder where your life went...don't ask me how I know that....
Damn Nutn'. I really wish I had some people telling me those things back in the day. As you said it seems obvious but everytime I came up with a plan there was always the usual: don´t do that/it´s not gonna work/that´s not how things are/you gotta follow this or that path. Most times it was just from people trying to "protect" me but it´s absurd nonetheless. But than again it´s never to late as long as you eyes open in the morning. Keep it up and thaks for the words.
Thinking about my dreams and goals. I had them stolen from me do to cancer. This vid has opened my eyes. Thank you. I don't think you truly know how many lives you touch.
Your videos inspire, and motivate me. I like that you remind everyone to step back and look at whats realy there, see threw the fake, and past the sheep. You are a great American being and an icon on YouTube. Im so glad you have such tallent and choose to use it well!
Mr. Nutnfancy. This video speaks volumes to me personally. 26-years-old and I always had a care-free, whatever happens will happen outlook. This, as you know, leads to the exact opposite of what you are describing about engineering your life. You get older and older yet you never "accomplish". Thanks for posting these videos. Your message is an important one.
You have done good for yourself. It's an honor to play youressages and reviews. I love the iPhone because I can do that anywhere hate the way it corrects things. Your family is awesome for allowing you to spent the time making these videos. Thank you. Thanks to your family too. I have said enough
Eight years ago, my vision came true. The biggest daycof my life, my mother pinned a badge on me. I had fears to overcome. Was shot at and retuned fire. Hit the suspect and got sick. About two years ago, I got married coming up on a year we had a son. Every day my life is impressed. Tanks Nutnfancy
I want to be a gunsmith and do repairs and costume work but I'm told its way to hard to do and i feel put down. But i would have to leave California to do costume gun work due to the laws ;l.
Truth is truth. Absolutely incredible and inspiring video - I start UPT at Laughlin in 4 weeks. I like the way you think - can draw a lot of inroads to your mindset and mine albeit our backgrounds are completely different

I'm running for Congress against Maxine Waters to "Champion The Cause of Liberty".
I may win. I may lose; but, something's got to be done to restore America.
Any support will be greatly appreciated.

I thank you for this video nutn, you're a true inspiration. Me being a high school senior, I've run into a dilemma of where to go with my life.
