I remember when they bought that 24H grader, and i'll never forget how small my 657 scraper felt beside it in the fill, thats the same year I quit on speedy LMAO.
they are some great grader operators you have there! it pays to keep the haul roads in such good condition. the motorways in ireland aren't even this good - everybodys cars a wrecked! do any of your scrapers have the joystick operating system or are they all still a bank of levers and a steering wheel?
@stevendonovan1987 We have several 657Gs and a 627G. I haven't seen any 637Gs yet but we are a large company so they may just be hiding. The rest are the old style 3 lever type (E, F).
sorry when i said "do any of your scrapers have the joystick operating system or are they all still a bank of levers and a steering wheel?" i meant to say grader!!! my bad!
@stevendonovan1987 We leased a 14M for a couple months just before the downturn in economy. I haven't seen it used since but I spotted it in the dealers yard with our stickers still on it. Last year was slow so maybe we'll take it back this year?
ive spent about 30 minutes on the new M series and ran several H models and my company owns a 772 johndeere but i would love to try one of these 24's out
Great Video again, this site is HUGE!!! its good to still see lots of equipment on these big jobs nothing like that is going on in Michigan anymore : (
It's so sad that the ACCO grader was never used again after the trade embargo with Libya. The ACCO grader would have been perfect for maintaining the roads used by giant haul trucks in mines, quarries, and large construction sites. ACCO also built the world's largest bulldozer which was also never used after the embargo with Libya. What a shame!
Heck no! We have R and T series. We tried out an M when they first came out but gave it back at the end of the season as they were still working bugs out at that point.
Must try a 24H one day :) I know a 100T fore sale only 1000 km from home. But what should i have it to?? Well could be nice to start at weekends just to disturb the neighbors :)
The 24H grader's blade ties the Champion 100T's blade as the world's widest blade but otherwise, the Champion 100T grader is larger than the Caterpillar 24H. But the CAT 24H is still impressive.
@glenn3rd2004 I must correct one point in my last comment. The world's widest grader blade belongs to the ACCO motor grader's, which is 33 feet wide. Also, the ACCO grader is the world's largest grader overall with two engines, one 1000 HP and the other 700 HP, and all-wheel-drive. Sadly, the ACCO grader has never been used. The ACCO would have been a perfect grader for maintaining the haul roads used by giant dump trucks in and out of mines, quarries, and oil sands.
basicaly a 140 would look like a die cast toy next to the 24 cool vid not much use for that in the states just minig industry maybe not many big dirt jobs here in cali :( u guys get to play with all the toys!
i was searching for 24H videos and i could hardly find any...is it such rare machine?? i would like to see it besideS an 140M to get an idea of it's size

Nonsense you can get your complete fix right here! I'd say that's a good thing.
Also I've put up a bunch of new "operating" videos since I got my truck (you've already watched a few). Plus there are plenty more on the way!

what's being built there? It shure is one hell of big job. I'm shure the company will be raking in the money after this job!
HitachiZaxis450LC 2 years ago
Well your profit is subject to your dirt prices of course, so just because the job is massive it doesn't mean you're going to rake in the dough ;)
This is a small network of ponds, a main roadway and a few lots.
