  • i am getting one when i have saved up for it. @critics: have you ever bought a serious instrument at all? USD 3000 will NOT buy you e.g. a decent upright bass. the sound generator today is the laptop, so that's not a problem.

  • i am getting one when i have saved up for it. @critics: have you ever bought a serious instrument at all?

  • yeah, waste of money and time! Old people need to invest their money in something else other than that crap!

  • this is the stupidest controller iv ever seen!

  • almost $3000 just for a midi controller?

  • first the said THREE YEARS AGO........ it was gonna be 26lb........ now its over 35..... then it was to be multicolor.... now 2 color... then it was to be $2696 now....... $3000...... i'll even bet the touch is NOT that great....... remember how great CME was supposed to be and turned out to be awful. ........

  • I'm pretty sure that I'm going to buy one of these. I do understand the $ shock - i.e. "$3000 for a Controller..." - I totally get that.

When I think about what an excellent action on a piano costs - or, for that matter, what other musicians must pay for high quality instruments (cellos, horns...) then I think that the price is actually a considerable value.

I'm making some assumptions - I haven't played a VAX77 yet, but if what I have read about it is true, I think I'm going to love it.

  • @hamer12string

And, it's not the folding that attracts me - it's attention to detail of the action, support for poly aftertouch and release velocity, the fact that it's a 76 key board that has a low A instead of E, and the way that they describe their key scanning/analysis (poised to offer higher resolution than the 128 levels currently found in the midi spec?).

The fact that it folds is a bonus.

  • Incredible idea that seems incredibly well executed... I'm just not sure I'm ready to pony-up $3000 for a MIDI Controller (no matter how advanced). Time will tell - thanks for posting this (for those of us who'll likely never get to go to a NAMM show).

  • The Polyaftertouch is a feature you that would u would need to pay over a thousand for on Ebay for a used 1990kurzweil midiboard controller to get any quality.....

I wished it was in an 88 key form with a ribbon for some CS80 controll

  • dManster and Larry in the background at 2:05! Awesome demo by Eddie Jobson.
