Old man ripped the patch from his jacket, the patch was intact when he got out of the car and as he ran away the old man was holding that very patch. Did anyone else notice?
57's were classics the day they rolled off the line. I've had a dozen of 'em. Only morons lacking creativity resort to destruction as cinematic entertainment.
What a shame to see a classic piece of design destroyed. There's nothing remotely funny about this so-called comedy. That appeared to be mint and is a dreadful loss.
You all dont realize that there's nothing rare about this car. If it were a fuel injected 150 2 dr post like Reggie jackson had, that would be a considerable loss to the hobby...
yeah, but $10K for a '57 even in this year is a steal. those things can sell for a hell of a lot. then again, it could be a hunk of shit with a good paint job.
OMG, that gorgeous '57 2-door post in larkspur blue. I hope it was a stunt double! This is nothing compared to how many '58 Plymouths were trashed in Christine. Yeah, only a movie.
john candy was chosen to play in this movie as the attorney but he was already tied up in another movie when filming started. when he watched it he said there was no way he could have held and straight face when the judge grandpa munster was doing the court scene. lol rip john we miss ya
If that was to really happen, I'd kill that son of a bitch if that was my car! Better yet, I'd probably slit his throat for being such a dumbshit with it. Alot of hard work went into that car and because of him, it went down the drain. $2,400.00? You got to be a dumbshit not to get it. One like that one he had was worth well over $60,000. To those of you who don't seem to understand, its like taking a new Porsche 911 and doing what he did. Plus he disrespected an elder!
It doesn't matter, it still happened to it(bad influence)! Do you even know how much time in hard work, and money it is to restore one of these beauties from the ground up? Its not like the car can rebuild itself afterwards. These are hard to find, especially in that condition!
god i love this movie it helps to take youre mind on todays problems and takes you back to when life was simple. yea we was broke but happy. no damn health problems to worry about like now
several scenes for this flick were shot in this location. (Darner Chrysler 837 W Main St Mesa, AZ 85201in real life) across the street from Darner was an empty field at the time 1980 (now apartments) where the film company built a fake garage and car lot office set. The property just east, still holds the motel where a lot of the film crew and stars stayed.
Watched this movie about 10 times and its one of my absolute favorites, such total scum bags but Jack Warden as the Fuchs brothers is by far my favorite character, hilarious...

Kind of gives a new spin to the term "Vehicular Manslaughter". That driver needs somebody to give him a swift kick in the nuts...

That's funny. Today that car would be worth 3 times the asking price AFTER the crash.

For today, if it was sold for $2,400 thats a steal deal.
Now the Bel Air is priced around $24,000 depending on condition ad seller's price.

Probably in 1980 '57 Chevys were not that expensive. What a waste...

Yes truly made me sick!! But look how well it held up to all that abuse. A roll over and it would more than likely drive off after the fact.
