@213hitman310 Why should u hate Japan? They were people just like u and me, who fought and committed such atrocities only because the government said it was the only way it could bring them honor and save their families.
the point is this pro-american documentary ironically highlights the shear genius and bravery of General Kuribayashi and his soldiers. Do you know the odds they were against? Americans would never have been able to defend an island like that. And talking about cruelty to prisoners, I was just thinking about the torture scandal against Iraqi troops. this doc glorifies war (which is pure hell). It has the potential to spark hatred against the "japs" once more.
The Japanese of today are really cool and chilled out. Which is probably due to the terrible WW2 experiences brought on them by the militarist government of the time.
My Dad was a Captain in the U.S. Army. He fought the Japanese somewhere in the Phillipines. He always had two Jap bullets in his left arm that remained. He never would talk about it. Or where exactly that he fought. He only commented about the Japanese cruelty to prisoners.
I don't hate the Japanese people. I believe that former enemies can become the strongest of Allies. But you simply cannot have a peacefull co-existence by being passive. You have to have respect. Respect that comes from being strong. I love Japanese and German Technology. I pray that America, Germany and Japan will always act as one people. Give your Grandpa best wishes from me and my late father.Once eternal enemies and now forever friends. :)
dude, your full of shit!,there is no medical reason what some ever for a rear medical facility and a surgeon to leave TWO rounds in a mans arm!,c'mon,i am a prior marine myself and your statement reeks of b.s..
your just trying to get attention by posting shit....
Why? This war was in the past. Hatred sparks new conflicts and more people suffer as a result. I'm merely trying to educate the public, not make them hate anyone.
@Historystartsnow I agree with you, but you cannot blame this guy/gal if he/she suddenly begins to hate Japan. I mean, there are a lot of factors that would make the person hate. One such thing is the mis-education of a lot of people (both foreign and domestic), deterioration of educational systems all over the globe, and all of the trash mass media wants everyone to gobble up, the degeneration of morals, etc.
seems like his strategy kinda worked. america never did invade. used the A bomb instead.

General Kuribayashi and his soldiers fought with incredible bravery against ridiculous odds. There are no heroes in war.
