@RufioMini no, the redtop is the name given to the C20XE, which is the 2.0 N/A engine of the same era. The C20XE and the C20LET (the turbo version) use the same block, and largely use the same ancillaries. The LET has extra oil feed and return pipes in the block for the turbo, different pistons, cams etc.. C20XE = 150bhp (ish). C20LET = 250bhp (assuming both are bog standard.
Yeah a-lot of people under-estimate this old engines, considering they are about 20yr old now. But still to this day, with the right mods/tuning you can push over 500bhp, as I've seen with few c20lets. That power in small cars is just nuts!. haha!
@AdamH1029 you obviously need your eyes testing! That corsa was all over the evo. only time the evo really caught up was when the corsa had to slow for traffic. Note the video 3:53-4:18.. Traffic was heavy. 4:18 down the pit straight was clearly the corsa taking a shit on the evo. Still, minus the slight slip up from the evo driver, he is clearly a good racer.
@Evolocia my point was that if the evo was being raped, he wouldn't have stayed with the corsa for *most* of the video and the corsa would have just driven away within two laps
