Fire went out because the stick is connected with a plastic glass and pressed onto it be the weight of fork and spoon. So the heat goes not only to wood stick, but to the glass itself. And eventually this small fire does not have enough energy to keep warming and burning the whole piece.
It has equilibrium within its own ref-frame!

thanks i had troble balencing a spoon and a fork on a toothpick

this is a nice experiment. It really shows the physics principles of equilibrium. I hope I could also do this.

Real question is, why did the fire go out?
tnet666 1 year ago
uhmm... what if you use glass/metal cup? does the result still be the same?
redzreload 1 year ago
@redzreload I just did it with a metal cup, it works.

Ooohh. I get it now. They are balancing. But why did you burn the toothpick at the end? What was the point of that. 4 stars to make up.
Honeebuket 1 year ago
@Honeebuket So he can show you that it still balances even though the toothpick is balancing on almost nothing :D

@Honeebuket it is to show the exact point of the center of gravity =)
