  • I bought this album from Columbia House, listened to part of it and promptly returned it. Not the Tull I was used to listening to, and hated the electronic movement.

  • My first Concert. Front Man from the band WARCHILD -for what it's worth. Not much -I know......

  • while lots of other 70s rockbands became just terrible and dull in the 80ties, the Tull kept going forwards. looking back, this is a very entertaining album. experimenting, daring, searching. synths or guitars or both, what does it matter?

  • @hayzeephantayzee Then why don't they play it live?

  • What would actually sound really good is if they used the vocal melody from the acoustic version (Under Wraps 2) but over the full electronic music :)

  • yawn

  • I yawn just reading your user name...

  • I'm a rarity in the Tull fandom in that I love classic 70's rock and prog, as well as later 80's electronic groups like Depeche Mode...so for me Under Wraps is an easy pill to swallow. I love it.

  • weird tull, but cool song of this era

  • The concert stage had big cloth modern sculptures all over it and we sat there for ages listening to nice chamber music for ages, until it started to build up and got louder and heavier then the cloth got ripped off them all and they were playing to us the whole time!

  • I could never get into this album much. Some great songs, but the delivery didnt cut much mustard. Ian's solo album from the same time has a similar sound but is much better - but thats just my view.

  • no band can fuck with Tull.

  • SO true, man. So true.

  • I really love this album !

  • Anyone who likes electronic music should listen to this song.

  • Yeah but this uses a real flute. JT never relied on "electronic music."

  • Of course JT wasn't an electronic band!

They just had the balls to experiment with different genres.

    You're right though--I'm glad that's a real flute! lol

  • @ envaneo

Technically, they have since about 1972 or so, when the first synths were used by the band on Thick As A Brick.

If you think Under Wraps isn't ellectronic because Ian is using a "real flute", you may want to have a closer listen to those sequencers and drum pads...

  • @AragornIsStrider ok your statement is historically inaccurate and completely absurd the first synth was advented by bill moog and there is much speculation as to the first band to feature it on album but the bands in question are from 67-68 well before thick as a brick

  • @ReeferRevolution

This is Aragorn (via my other username)...Um...where was I historically inaccurate? I never mentioned anything about the first synth.

    Put down that reefer.

  • A great Tull album, but I just wish they'd used a real drummer instead of a drum machine, but hey, it was the 1980's after all !!!
