I bought an AT-LP240 turntables in early December. I just noticed that the speed on mine is slightly slow (strobe dots move slightly counterclockwise). I found this out by observing the strobe dots on the platter. Apparently the faster the speed the more it magnifies the slow speed error. Does your AT-LP240 hold perfect speed? You may have to stare at the strobe dots for a few minutes on the slower speeds (33 & 45) before you notice any speed error. On 78 it is easier to see. Thanks!

Help I really want to buy this turntable. What is the ground lug for and if I'm going to have this switched to Line do I need to use the ground lug?

@Skanker19 Hi. It depends on your receiver. Most receivers require you ground to prevent hum. If you are simply using the line to go into a BOSE or other similar music system you will no need to ground the turntable. Enjoy! it is a great high quality engineered machine! I love it!

Was your old turntable an Ion Profile Pro? That is what I have now and I'm considering purchasing the Audio Technica. I'm glad you put this video together and also posted the details for the stylus and cartridge you are using. I will probably get the same one as it seems to be popular for this turntable. Are you using the USB connection to record your vinyl?

@Malakai20122 THe ION was about 100 dollars at a local record shop all plastic It captured good enough audio but I was ready for an upgrade ( I also wanted a MANUAL table) I was also unsatisfied with all the plastic. It looked cheap. I now prefer spinning my records. I did convert some LPs to MP3 using the new 240. I used the USB cable and my own editing software (adobe Soundwave) The MP3s sound superior to ones from ION! better highs and rishcer bass and lows

@jettaman01 Thanks. I love it. Although it may be considered an entry level audiophile table. I am completely satisfied. The audio sounds so clear crisp and warm.
Listening with head phones is a pleasure. As of now it's plugged into a Bose Music System I will eventually get a proper receiver / speakers
Also the music I capture and convert to MP3 is far superior to anything I have ripped or bought before. But now, I just love spinning my LPS, Viva La VINYL!
