I was actually reading a magazine article and I was like....man I dont think your actually supposed to tilt your body like that! lol too funny man! stupid magazines..
every comment everyone seems to make on stack and tilt is predicated on their own knowledge on the traditional swing. So any feed back given by a traditional swinger shouldnt even be considered.
the rotation of his spine has a 33 degree angle past the level of his right hand which changes the fulcrum of his gravity point . If the app pressure that is measuring at 14.9 it would release his parasympathetic response to his alpha 1 and 2 properties. If that does take place that means his s/a node would fire at least 10% less (70 to 90). once past the av junction he is suspect for an embolism release that will most definitely affect his divot.
lets be clear here, the player needs to tilt the spine towards the target to keep the shoulders rotating in the same position, as usual the commentator is thinking of the spine as the centre of rotation which it is not. One of the main differences here is the lack of need to stay behind the ball as the lateral hip motion and stable upper swing centre help create tilt and leave the head where it started, thus shallowing the attack angle but leaving the low point target side of the ball.
Your wrong about this. You past the top of the swing. Charlie has started his transition down with a hip center slide to the left Side at this point. I work with Mike Bennet on my swing and There is a diffent tilt to the left and a standing up of the spine. I thought it sounded crazy when Mike told me to do it. But it is the only way once rotation of the upper torse starts to keep the shoulder center steady. Which is the key principal of Sn T the reason, the#1 fundamental of the method
Actually, part 2 of S&T in Golf Digest talked about the tilt to the right (upper body). No clue why everyone wants to attack this so much. It has greatly helped me. I couldn't even take a divot before S&T. And this change happened for me in a WEEK!!!
With all due respect, you misunderstand the method at least slightly. The goal is (as it should be in any swing) to keep your upper swing center (sternum) stationary throughout the swing. Thus, when your lower body slides forward, your upper body will have to tilt backwards if you keep the sternum in a fixed position. In other words, you make NO EFFORT to "stay behind the ball"; you simply turn around the swing center. Everything else is incidental to that.
spine inclination is a better way to describe it. you can follow the swing inclination to the ground by walking in front if the golfer and follow him around 360. it stays the same - though he is tilting, standing up and rotating the shoulders.
The sandt method does involve a front tilt, as kcgolfer pointed out. To stay over the ball or centered you have to stand up, tilt forward, and turn your shoulders at the same time. Also his head is not tilting away from the target, it stays fairly still he is thrusting his hips through. golf swing is a circle, of course the club will eventually go inside.most sandt starters take deep divots because they don't stand up through impact or cast the club (I've been there myself).
@spartanstackandtilt, yes, and a S&Tilter myself, I agree. This fellow means well, but he doesn't understand the concept. And once you get it down pat, you take beautiful, consistent divots every time. Also, you might want to check the comment I left just a few minutes ago.
In order to stay stacked you have to tilt...i have talked to Mike and Andy about this. For you to see it you would have to follow in a 360 arc around the golfer to see the tilt.
I would dispute that the players aren't tilting in the backswing. The reason it appears that he's not tilting at the top is because his shoulders are turned. It's only an appearance. What you see and what you do are two different things. If he wasn't tilting, he'd be way on the right side, also known as a traditional golf swing. The reason for tilting is to keep the shoulder turning in the same circle--you have to tilt to do that.

The only thing that your "insider access" and analysis proves is that you know nothing about stack and tilt.

If you are going to have bullet points on a back swing, you have to include the entire back swing. Not just a desired picture.
