no actually all you have to do is make a web browser and make them research if they have a virus lol and once they figure out they press a button that opens up a new form lol and make them enter the infected file and use My.Computer.FileSystem.DeleteF­ile TextBox1.Text LOL and say if you have an infected regestry click here and that uses diagnostics.process.system.sta­rt to open up registry editor! ROFL

Trust me to make a good anti-virus you need more then 1000 or more hours of work.

It does what it's supposed to and that's delete a certain file "test.txt" if it exists in a certain directory "Program Files", if the file does not exist, this program will do nothing.

There is no real scanning element present here, and it won't protect you from real threats.

this is a handy tutorial for those who want to know how to delete a certain file if it exists though...

The System IO command set would allow an actual ANTIVIRUS program to be made. This is not effective antivirus, much less a worthy program to be posted here. This is looking up file names in a specific directory and regardless of what's in it, saying it's a virus. Please put more consideration into your code before posting tutorials. It would be so much more worth people's time.

Not really. This is an actual anti-virus script. It's basically a snippet. You have to manually add dangerous files and where they would be located and by what name. By this the program will scan it then you will be able to kill that file.

the only problem is how do you know which code is malicious? you have to keep a database and keep it up to date as new viruses are being released. well who in the world has time to keep something like that up to date? anti virus companies :P

you need to put a lot of effort into something like this if you wanted to make it effective

it should take less than 0.1 second to delete that txt file...
