  • this was really helpful! i aplaud your teaching skills, you made it easy to learn! :)

  • Good. I'm glad you found it pretty easy. :)

  • There is one chord that doesn't match AJ Rafael's version.

    Fmaj7 Cm7 Fsus4-7-9 (Cm7/F) Bbmaj7 Bbm7.

    The rest is perfect!

  • Yeah. I noticed that recently when AJ showed me how he plays it. I changed the annotations in the video but unfortunately I can't change the video itself. Thanks for pointing that out, though, man.

  • i really dont understand how to read the guitar chords

  • To help you read tablature (tabs) :

Your lowest string on the guitar is E. Then comes A, D, G, B, and E. So from low to high, it's EADGBE. Those are the notes of the strings.

    So if I put x79900,

    think of it like EADGBE

on the low E string you mute it or don't play it ( x )

on the A string you press the 7th fret down

on the D string you press the 9th fret

on the G string you press the 9th fret

and on the last two strings, B and E, you leave them open ( 0th fret )

    -Alex

  • Hey Cacha,

thanks for the tutorial, Im trying to do a cover with a singing part included and I've been going back and forth on whether the first note of the singing is an A or D, any help is appreciated.

  • So I hopped on a train

    A A# B# A A# B#

I believe that's right. Hopefully the lining up of notes/letters worked.. :) So yeah, first note is A

  • ok thanks a lot

  • the A sounds right , but it sounds like both your cover and aj's cover starts on a D

  • im having trouble putting the intro hands together. sorry, but i just need to kno which chords go with which notes?

  • Awesome Tutorial, Thanks for posting!

Can you make one for My Everything by Cathy Nguyen an Randolph Permejo? =]

  • can i subscribe to you guys?

  • you should change the tone

  • Change what tone..?

  • hey great tutorial, but i dont know how to read the guitar chords.. do yu think you can send me the lyrics with the note names above the words? thanks so much

  • thanks for making a tutorial for piano! i was having a hard time learning

would you mind making one for guitar?(:

  • i dont get how your supposed to play the guitar partt. the x5x, whatttt??

  • The strings, low to high, are: EADGBE so when you see x 8 10 9 10 x think of it just like E A D G B E Mute the low E string. Play the A string on the 8th fret. Play the D string on the 10th fret. Play the G string on the 9th fret. Play the B string on the 10th fret. And mute the high E string. I hope that clears it up for you.
  • i think x's represent the strings u dont play

  • what do the X's in the guitar tabs mean?

  • The x's mean that that string is not played.

  • so how do u strum the guitar without strumming those strings

  • A couple ways are..

    1) On the strings that are to be muted, slightly touch them with your left hand fingers that are holding down the other strings.

    2) Pluck the strings that don't have "x's". Watch our cover to see what I mean. The link's in the sidebar.

  • nice tutorial :) in my opinion it sounds better with the third chord being F maj

  • how can i get this piano sheet? does anyone know the website i can get it?

  • Just wanting to know, what is the time signature of this piece?

  • 4/4. Should be.

  • hi alex thnx for this tutorial it helped me a lot and could you please message me the notes cuz i am having a bit of trouble

  • I name the notes of every chord in the video. Just listen to the vid and write it out. That's the same way I would get them to you.

  • what key does AJ play this song in?

    what about you?

  • AJ and I play it in the same key. I believe it is the key of F.

I'm curious.. Why did you wanna know? I've gotten this question before.

    -Alex

  • ohh sorry i shouldve looked at the comments before. but i have a question. this key is a bit too high for my voice so i have to bump it down a half step so does that mean i bump all of the chords a half step too?

  • Well. There are a few things you could do.

    1) For the higher notes, sing in falsetto or make an alternate melody.

    2) Sing an octave lower... not recommended.

    3) Bump all the chords down a half step or a step and relearn how to play it.

    4) If your piano is electric, find the function on it that transposes up or down while you still play the same piano keys.

    5) If you play guitar, you could play She Was Mine on that instead. It's easier to transpose.

So, these are all just different options.

  • what does the key f you play in mean?

  • can you put it into sheet music and post it?

  • Nope. Sorry. Don't have anything to write it out with. I would need a program that would let me do it efficiently. If someone else sees this comment, maybe they'll want to do this.

  • the intro and verse chords are:

F Maj c min Eb Maj Bb Maj g min7r

    the chorus chords are:

    g min C Maj a min D Maj

i think key is in Bb Maj

  • btw great tutorial.

  • Comment removed

  • Are you sure, man. I don't think that's right. However, you may know more about theory and stuff than I do..

  • i'm just saying the chords you play.

  • I think you corrected whatever may have been wrong.

Yeah. I really appreciate you giving the chords, yo. It helped me out cuz now I've put the chord names in the video.

Thanks a bunch. You get your name in the video. :)

    -Alex

  • haha awesome.

you accidentally put b flat minor for the last one. it's g minor.

  • I'm pretty sure it's b flat minor. At least the way it is on guitar. On guitar, there are actually a lot of 7th chords.

  • oh cause a Bb F and G make a g minor 7th chord.

yeah actually the whole chorus part are 7th chords.

  • Comment removed

  • if anybody can send me some notes of this it will be higly appreciated. =D

  • great tutorial. what key are you playing it in?

  • The key is F

  • this is soo cool . thanks for putting it up !

  • can you please show how to do the slow part of the song... =]

  • When I do it, I just use the same chords but play them slower and a little differently. If I go back and learn that part at some point, I'll do another tutorial with it included. :)

    -Alex

  • omg finally i founddddd the video that can help me learn she was mine by aj ahhh i love this song

    :)))))))

  • Does anyone know where i can find sheet music for this ?

  • wow..im tottaly in debt to you..haha..thanks alot sir!!!!!!

  • yep, you're amazing! thanks for putting this video up :)

  • Thnx! : ) Nice~!

  • good job

  • thanks man, great teaching

  • for the guitar tabs do you need a capo on the second fret like in the other videO??

  • No capo.

  • good tutorial

this helps me alot on the piano

  • I'm glad to hear that. :)

    -Alex

  • Hey Alex, I wanted to say thanks for the tutorial. I might just be musically challenged, but do you have the keys/chords of the third verse?

  • I usually just play the same thing but slower and not as "bouncy." However, you can also go up an octave or have one hand play on the higher octave or something.

:) Hope that works out for ya.

    -Alex

  • can you just send me the notes in a message please because i haven't been playing for a couple months now so i'm a bitt slow@ this now. so if you could, then thanks

  • thanks!

I'll learn it sometime this week

  • What's The Melody For The Right Hand? ;O Because When I Finish With the "C , D" On My Right Hand Along With The D F(Sharp) A On My left, It Sounds Plain. So What Is The Melody For The Right handed Ending. :)

  • Try this:

When you play D F# A on the left hand, run the right hand with D C Bb A.

Other than that, I'm not sure how ta help you out. Listen to the notes that they sing in it and maybe try to piece it together on piano. You could even try to make up a melody that sounds similar to the song in a part. It may take a little work but it will help you improve on stuff like that.

    -Alex

  • Oh Okays, Haha Thank You Very Much! You're Really Helpful ^^ Well, I'm Goin To School Now, To Practice Some More ^^ I Started Practicing Yesterday, And I Think I'm Getting It. I Spent Like 4 Hrs Trying To Practice, But Ima Slow Learner XD

  • Dude. Awesome!! I'm so happy I can help you out with that. I'm really glad I put this up. I hope that final goes well! If you need some extra help, message me. If it's supposed to be only piano and no singing you can play the melody on your right hand.
