@henrythesteinberg Yet Lacanian psychoanalysis literally does wonders when applied to artificial intelligence, while Chomsky has written about 100 books and none of them go beyond his simplistic thought prevalent in most Anglo-American analytic "philosophers" that consists only of an outdated Smithian understanding of the economy. The only merit to Chomsky's thought was his critique of US foreign policy and some of his linguistic work.

What he says about "living by ideas & ideals" is strictly what Lacan says is fake - his "traversing the fantasy" is how one should be disillusioned about those "ideas & ideals" ("not giving up your desire" is another story). But given that this is just a film instead of a real lecture, maybe this kind of social fantasy needs to be repeated.
