@SupremeAmerican They spent ALOT of time working on these (no sarcasm haha), can't remember the exact amount but they really tried to get them perfect before sending them out. It's a little funny how everyone bashes them, but have nothing to say about them but good things when it comes to hands on experience with them. I have pot alot of different kinds of ammo through mine and it works great, keep in mind the original 1911's were probably considered junk when they came out.......
@AmoralEngineer I don't think the sights fell off of the "original" 1911's! Remington's customer service is what gives this gun alot of bad credit. I've had "hands on" experience and I'll tell you this.....I would never buy another one!
@SupremeAmerican airsoft? your going to have to clarify kid. ... oh wait your upset because you bought a cheap 1911 instead of saving up for a Colt. well maybe you can get a hold of a Colt slide.. then no one will know you buy shit. That piece of crap you own is ASSEMBLED in the States, not MADE in the States...it's called a loop hole you sad little boy. have fun with your Chink 1911 that says made in america on it :)
@SupremeAmerican Are you? you seemed to be upset that I noticed you have a REMINGTON billboard on the side of you pistol. question is... you a Troll ( rhetorical )
@ChromeArty Nah i just dont base my gun choices on what's in a video game. See that's the difference between me and you, i get guns that actually work in real life.
@SupremeAmerican ya see? you are a troll. What are you talking about?... video games? I would list off my 12 firearms but I feel my breath would be wasted, considering you are a Troll and wouldn't know what they were, and that you clearly have no interest in quality since you supposedly own an R1. I think it's cute that you presume to know about the firearms I own.... time for your Pablum
@ChromeArty First of all, you are quite sexy and i think we should have relations. 2nd of all, if you think i will waste money on any kind of 1911 just to pretend i am cool, then you dont know what a job is and have never worked a day in your life.
@SupremeAmerican We should get together, I'd love to see your mascara run while I skull fuck you :) also, the 1911 is a beautiful firearm, to bad there are so many built to a poor standard. Third, once again with your presumptions. I have worked in construction since the moment I stepped out of school... wish I had your soft hands and silver spoon though, ... so much time to troll and all :) what's next I wonder. keep it comin kiddo.
@SupremeAmerican Ooooooo baby! you keep talkin like that sugar, I done gone ask you for your eharmony account. lol ! you are a very good troll :) hats off man, hats off.
Well, I don't work for Remington....so don't sell the company short, please. When I first got a hold of the gun a lot of detailed images weren't available, so I created the "lame" slide show. I agree it could be a whole lot better, so there's sure no argument there. I just wanted folks to get a look at the gun. I've shot the gun extensively and it works really, really well.
I've always been a Remington rifle man. Wouldn't have anything else for hunting deer or varmints, etc. The Remington 870 Wingmaster shotgun is also a big favorite. So I'm curious to see if Remington succeeds with re-entry into pistol making. Disappointed in the lame slide show: what sells guns is showing people how they shoot. So that's one clue that suggests Remington is off on the wrong foot. They may want to hire better people in their advertising department.(Like ad men/ shooters.
This is a nice throw-back era 1911 with a few basic upgrades. Mine is breaking in well, and getting a smother feel as the round count gets higher. For $600, Remington put together a decent package.
its nice that remington puts out 1911s on the market, but honestly i don't dig it too much. They added extras that don't go well with a classic look. personally i believe a classic look is much better for an entry level handgun. this one looks likes its made from random parts kits. i think its because Remington doesnt want to put out different models like Springdfield or Kimber and others do. they aren't expecting to sweep the market but rather take a small share, bandwagon move lol
I just got my on June 9, 2010 for $659. Try out shoot on Sat. 12 indoor target shooting. Only 5 sheel jam up out of 100. (Note: these bullet brough from target shooting place, cheap brand.) Later on June 13 and 20, shot over 100 each day. No jam up.(I used Winchester bullet.) Shot good taget at 15 yards. Note: It the first time I used 1911, it take time for me to get better bull eye.

@yenhan705eh77 It's so retro I agree with you. I have a Wilson Combat 1911. Remington is rolling out more modern versions in the next few months, though.
@airsoftloverusp Why not!? Anyone who has ever owned a 1911 or knows anything about 1911 knows how good a Kimber really is. Maybe that's why many U.S. marines and LAPD swat officers carry them.
@airsoftloverusp Wrong again there buddy! Currently kimber is supplying custom TLE/RL II to the U.S. Marine's elite MCSOCOM det 1 unit. And by saying LAPD sucks doesn't support your argument whatsoever. In case you didn't know, the first SWAT team was established in the LAPD in 1968 led by ex chief Daryl Gates and sets the standard by which others are measured and is well respect throughout the law enforcement community. If you don't like kimber 1911s, then you don't know quality 1911s.
@yenhan705eh77 I would go as far to say that just b/c someone doesn't like kimber 1911s, they don't know quality. Kimber has had their fair share of problem pistols also.
@AUSly09 All gun companies have problems in their products from time to time. I love Kimbers and have tested a ton of them. I also shot the Remington 1911-R1 over a really long weekend. Both are awesome. The Kimbers have a lot of added features, but the R1 tries to remain true to World War I design with a few enhancements that make it somewhat more attractive to today's self-defense buyer. It all comes down to what you want. The R1 is retro cool, Kimbers are, well, Kimber cool!
@AUSly09 Well, tools and machines are all made by man and anything made by man are of course susceptible to flaws. With that being said, a good firearm company is always able to keep those flaws to a minimum. And I'm proud to say that Kimber is one of those company!

I like the new Remington 1911. But I will change the grips on it, I would like to but Rattlesnake skin grips on it. That would give it a nice look.
