Yes, many children do get free or reduced lunches ... however, many children come to school hungry, having not eaten breakfast. We also know that many of our children come back from the weekend hungry. We address this problem by providing food for families through food pantries and also through programs like our Backpack Program, which sends backpacks full of kid-friendly food home with needy children on Fridays.

This comerical makes me soo sad. and it is powerful but dosesn't the school provide free and reduced lunch for kids who can't afford it?? I went to school in pa and got at the start of every year for reduced lunch and i've heard kids say they get theirs for free don't all schools do it??
