  • The drums sound so wrong.

  • Incredible how they sound and look like a cover band now. The melodica sound emulated on keyboard is absolutely tasteless.

  • great album ever....

  • stipe, admit it,yer absolutely terrible here with this drummer.

  • ardgilan castle 2005... happy days :)

  • By far my favourite song by R.E.M. I always pretended to have trouble falling asleep as a kid so my Dad would play this on the guitar for me.

  • Ah man, what a memory from high school. Loved this song!

  • - happy 50. birthday Michael!!!!!

    - knopfler forever, going home :))))))

  • Such a beautiful song - to be able to project so much into one song just amazes me.

  • I love this song. Michael expresses so much feeling. This is up there with one of my favorite R.E.M. songs.

  • This is why I started writing music. Michael really put his heart in these lyrics.

  • I love REM this song is great.

  • Man, this album had so many singles...i still think Monty Got a Raw Deal should have been a single, too....

  • bellísimo :)

  • I think this is one of their best songs. I love it.

  • MY favorite song.

    its wonderful.

  • la più bella canzone in assoluto dei REM

  • come si chiama quello ccanzono loro che ora fa da colonna sonora a g d'arco?

  • Its fabulous the drum should hav played a 16-beat on the ref though

  • second best song of automatic for the people. Man on the moon is of course the best

  • What is the deal with the blue around Stipe's eyes? The song is awesome

  • yeah, and nobody ever asks what's with Bono Voxe's sun glasses all day (and night) long. why does everyone have a problem with the paint around the eyes? every front man has all rights to be eccentric in a way ;)

  • Peter Gabriel would dress up as a flower with Genesis back in the seventies......so who knows. I think it looks kinda cool. Like a "new wave" American Indian in war paint!

  • This is a fabulous song from Automatic for the People, which is a great cd

  • Love this, Thank you for posting

  • They are amazing live,

  • Incredible lyrics by an incredibly talented band...the words resonate strongly...I've got to leave to find my way!

  • there song writing was not as good after berry

  • This song is so good, one of REMs beautiful songs

  • Terminator I tried to respond to your email but your account is closed? What's up with that?

  • yes Berry was great but Rieflin is also great

  • The piano in it is so beautiful

  • we miss you Bill Berry

  • This song is so Beautiful

  • if iam somewhere, this songtext is, which the first in my mind ( coriander steam and rose of hay, watch the rode and memorize etc )so i love it - but only after country feedback

  • great!

  • This song along with Night Swimming are two of the most perfect songs ever written

  • totally with you, man. Let me shake your hand. In Poland - my country, we would drink some wódka for this

  • Consider this a toast and a handshake!

  • Je prefere d'autres chansons, mais t'as raison - les deux sont belles quand meme :)

    więc najlepszego, za REM ;)

  • I love Contry feedback, but Find the river is the most hopeless song of r.e.m. song....Automatic for the people best album....

  • the most beautiful song ever <3 just love it :)

  • Seer sex

  • One of my favorite R.E.M. songs! :)

  • He actually has one of the best live voices I've ever heard. Have you even been to an R.E.M. concert? Open your ears more.

  • you are so right. he has one of the best live voices, i always enjoy REM live.

  • If they sounded exactly like they do on their albums when they played live, they would be Britney Spears or Ashley Simpson, now, wouldn't they? That's kind of the point of a LIVE show. You should be watching MTV if you want the "exactly like the album" sound.

  • Automatic For The People last song.

    Wonderfoul Record!!

  • fave rem song art the mo - sad and upliftng at the same time ! ?

  • there's a version of this song on tourfilm if i'm not mistaken. does anyone have the mtv unplugged version mentioned before?

  • Tourfilm chronicles their 1989 Green World Tour--three years before this song was written.

  • This is definitely in their top five best songs. It's certainly the best song on AFTP.

  • Why isnt Ken doing the backing vocals? His vocals on the MTV unplugged version are better than Mike and Scott's.

  • does anyone know where you can hear the unplugged version?

  • In the album version, Mike does the high harmony and Bill the low harmony -- they probably decided Scott's voice is lower and more fitting for the low harmony? I think Mike sounds great, as usual (and he sounded great in the version with Ken, too), and I feel like Scott's backup comes closer to sounding like Bill's from the Tourfilm version.

  • Thanks for posting! This is one of my favorites!

  • Love this song - brilliant harmonies on the chorus. Has anyone got the version from MTV unplugged a few years ago?

  • in my opinion this is one of their best ever songs and should have been on their greatest hits album.

  • brilliant song

  • the road movie is better with the violin!

  • Thanks! 1st live video of this song found so far.

  • great rendition. thanks for posting!
