  • educate your thinking or be left behind.

  • I didn't like it.. the did u know 3.0 and other are way better.

  • this video made me 2nd guess myself! I didnt know what teh earth was like untill i watched this video right here! excellent, im amused!

  • stupid and boring video

  • loser

  • you`re right abe00000035.

  • This is not the same Did You Know video as the other 3 in the series. I have the real Did You Know 4.0 under my videos

  • This is all good, but why with all this technological progress, soo many pple suffer with deseases that have no cure, wars, hunger, poverty, discrimination, oppression? The list is endless.

  • Exactly!

  • This all scares me quite bad. We won't be here by the time 2100 rolls around. I read somewhere that we have a 50/50 chance of reaching the 22nd Century. I don't know about you all, but that doesn't sound too good to me. :/

    Still a very magnificent video though. : ) <3

  • pure propaganda! we are in exponential times though. nobody knows what is to come, i love this fact. not even the prophets knew. i'd learn to live harmoniously, or die in a dirty dust ball floating along with only a few desperate folk running around being dumb blogging all day building the technosphere and killing the biosphere.

  • There will be no 2049.

The human race will cease to exist before2036 comes along.

  • Prove it. State reasons.

  • why?

  • Hey guys! Drop everything you have! We have a PSYCHIC in here, posting end-of-the-world predictions in the form of obscure YouTube text comments!

Go back to your bomb shelter, kid.

  • You don't know, and neither does he, so shut up? Sorry "shut up" just sounds so ignorant in the context of these did you know videos

  • i get sick of reading & watching things written & spoken my people from the US of A that think the whole world is about them... oh & please note america = nortth plus south, will we look back in 5 years time & reflect that when the US of A thought they were the centre of the universe was "the good old days" i doubt it!!

  • I have a question: Where in the world are you? There are tons of youtube sites. you are on the US's. In fact, there are 21 different sites (I just counted). The thing about information is you have to put it in terms your general audience will understand. That's why [our] glorious former president dumbed everything down to what he could understand. If you don't like the country bias, by all means, go to one of the other sites. I will even frequent them from time to time, just to see what's up.

  • .com != USA

  • thats amazing

  • Do you know what Youtube is? lol :3

  • Weak.

  • nice..accept my response plz

  • 'Temporarily, there is a big source of jobs for this coming couple of years in the USA.' Short story about it on DaFlikkers (.) B log Spot. Jan 09. Those that turn their backs on education in the hard sciences, are going to miss out in their long lifetime ahead.

  • epic.

  • this is really weird..... i like 'did you know 3.0' better

  • what song is this?

  • Music:Used with permission: Last of the Mohicans! The Kiss;Elk Hunt

All music composed by Trevor Jones & Randy Edelman and Clannad..

Music by Trevor Jones for the 1992 drama movie. Released 11/13/2001 on the Morgan Creek label, catalog number 20015

  • hey ppl wht does the video mean by "if ur 1 in a million, theres 1000 like you"?

  • did u really think every humans which is born is different?

  • well sort of

  • well you were wrong

  • ...

  • it simply means that china has a population of 1,3 billion: 1.300*1.000.000=1.300.000.000

  • it means, for every 1 person in America there are 1,000 or 1,300 more in China or India.

  • how can there be 1000 people in china or india for ever 1 person in america? america has 300 million people and china only has a little over 1 billion. your assuming a little too much.

  • That's not what it's saying. It's saying that there are 1300 million people in China and 1000 million in India. There was no comparison to the U.S. (ex. there would be 300 people like you in the US)

  • Was up with the soundtrack?

  • no on where is this MOVIE IHAVE A PAPER DUE ON IT TOMORROW!!!!

  • WHOA! Crazy, but true! Scary, scary, stuff!

  • fudole, its a movie put on you tube to educate you, not for you to sit there and say, oh this is stupid or disagree about it, make your own shift happens, find your own information, and when u get the information these people have gathered, THEN say its wrong. Good Job Btw

  • Never said this was stupid, and I dont need to gather information to tell me something thats learned from experience. I have almost the exact same curriculum other undergrads had 10 or 20yrs before me. Besides, we dont know exactly what the "technical information" is. It could include books, etc that are just being digitized, or new pron sites even. Just because something is added to the internet doesnt make it technical information.

  • smaller chips, new kinds of storage devices, new algorithms, new materials, new ways to build antennas of mobile phones.. you name it.

look through one of the weekly 150-pages tech magazines frome time to time

  • nice

  • the colledge is bs. because even though we double in information the information is 80% about technology only

  • Technically what students learn isnt outdated by their 3rd year. They (we) really are getting a grasp of the basic ideals, theories, techniques, etc within the discipline of study. It's not until the final year, graduate school even, that the knowledge we gain begins to become outdated. At that point in your education or career, it becomes your duty to become familiar with new information that was more than likely based on your previous knowledge. So your knowledge is never outdated, just updated

  • The Shift became noticable in the late 90s, when the internet finally entered the forefront of communication.

  • HI mr MAZZ !!!!!

  • Too many big words!! Is this thing literally trying to scare us? And this video repeated alot of the stuff from "did u know 3,& 1".. I watched all of them and I thought they remade the third one..it'd be nice if they did one with all new info! After the third one i was bored..

  • For those that have ears to hear.....

"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end,

many shall run to and fro [world travel will increase dramatically] and knowledge shall increase." (Daniel 12:4)

  • You know what it all means? We're all gonna die! I mean, I hope that doesn't happen, but all this new technology is going to get out of control. It said that technical info would triple, was it? Every 72 hours by 2010 I think, so how fast do you think it's going to triple in 2020? It will be unimaginable, I personally hope the government stops these scientists from inventing so fast.

  • information has and never will kill anyone. it takes man to kill another, not a scientist. i personally hope that you think before you type your response.

  • right, some ppl would argue that technological advances such as a high-tec robots could kill or replace humans but technically it is humans fault seeing as though they create the technology.

  • robots require programming.

Ergo, a human must be the one that programs rampancy and what not.

  • but, by 2050, the internet is supposed to be completely run with artificial intelligence...that means it will have a mind of IT'S OWN!!!!

  • ...that was smooth...i pressed the rong key... anyway... as i was saying... BEWARE OF THE INTERNET... well in 41 years... but... ya, don't get on it's bad side...

  • what happens when it freezes from overload

  • AI would not require humans to program robots.

beeing able to make decisions on its own , it would be able to program robots to obliterate mankind.

    ur theory is wrong sry.

  • Fair enough point, but a human has to program the computers so that they can potentially make decisions on their own.

  • And humans are arrogant, believing they can control everything they have the ability to influence in one manor or the other. No mater how smart we think we are we're still stupid deep down. Ever come to a situation you thought about and said "Yea, I'd do ***** because it's common sense" but then when that situation happened you acted on instinct, not your "common sense" and did something completely different?

Do not fear. We'll wipe ourselves out with time lol. It's inevitable so just enjoy.

  • Just because we won't be there doesn't mean it doesn't matter. I'm not in the life of a starving child in a developing country, but does that mean that his life doesn't matter? You're statement is completely self centered, and it gives the appearance that you care for naught but yourself. The future does matter, and even though it might not be in my lifetime, The people there will still have lives that are important, and it's up to us now to build as bright as a future as we can for our children

  • You're calling me judgmental while saying that you consider me bacteria? Sounds a little off, in my book. You're comments exhibit an egocentric mind the likes of which I have never seen before. And surely such feelings move society backwards, not forwards. I judge you because you appear to be unfeeling and uncaring about people who have been born into a life that offers very little ability to change their circumstances, only our help, I will help, and other will too, meaning we remain moral yet

  • Comment removed

  • Bacteria can be pretty productive. Lrn2 microbiology. Some of them also show more intelligence than you seem to be exhibiting.

  • Forgive me but...

Screw the children. If we don't fix the future to help ourselves what good is the "future" for children?

  • stupid..Your opinions are completely abject. You are only consider yourself, like you are all that matters. I agree, if you are going to think that way, think of you.

You are nothing, just another human born, die...It's not like that, you see people getting killed on the news, somtimes people even laugh. They are a real person...family....home...friends(I hope).

    Not just "another person".

  • You noticed how all this "Did You Know" videos have some kick-ass hypnotic music?

  • yeah and i like it:P

  • USA the latest Unionised and Tenured teaching profession firmly in place, why would the teachers want to change 'that's the way we've always done it'? I know many very capable and dedicated teachers want to improve the efficiency and quality, but as in all union work, the innovators are dragged back to reality quickly by their peers. China handles this problem easily, but how are we going to handle it in the USA? BTW my father was a teacher when 'excellence' was the only way to keep your job.

  • Having worked in industry then switched careers to teach now at University level, the publics completely ignorant how bad the education establishment is screwing America. Secondary students can't compete w/ other nations, HS grads lack high tech skills to keep jobs in the US, spiraling costs, teach ed programs teach how to teach but teachers are "content midgets" & ya bring up change or reform you're ostracized/denied tenure. Our decline in standard of living lately is just the beginning.

  • If you were a teacher and used this poor syntax construction while teaching its no wonder our students are behind. 1-800-HOOKED ON PHONICS would be a good start.

  • You are obviously a left coaster. You criticize the inconsequential, like poor syntax construction, while not noticing the reason (500 word limit). Typical. It's simple really. We spend more money on jails and prisons because people break laws. Throwing money at education has yet to improve education.

  • Wait, so you're telling me that more jails solves problems as opposed to educating our next generation? Just lock'em up vs give them a fighting chance? Am i getting this right. And you're right, i digress. The 500 limit forces one to shave sentences.

  • I see your page says that you are an engineer. So let me appeal to your training. Remember stuff like root/cause analysis i.e. Logic like if A then B but not B then A, FMEA, Ishikawa charts, Pareto Analysis, and the likes? Underperforming education systems and Law breaking are non-sequitur items. No I don't agree with your premise. Let's break it down into man, machine, environment, method, measurement. Education & law breaking issues may overlap but correlation does not prove causation.

  • Public forums like these are informal and grammar police fanatics like you are simply in the way of fully understandable communication processes.

  • Well if i cant understand what a person is trying to say...

  • Good point. I'll back down.

  • To me it started in the 80's under Reagan and Harve Bennett Secretary of Education. The perpetual dumbing down of America.

  • And I would argue it started back in the '60s with LBJ's Great Society. The pill, abortion, quicky divorce, God out of the schools, end of corporal punishment (spanking) in schools, loss of economic prowess, free love, etc. lead to the break down of the family unit, a unit that's never recovered.

  • Now our conversation has broadened its scope beyond its original content. Let's back up a little. My premise is that our current and next generation is being deliberately deprived of sound educational reinforced sacumen which (to me) does directly correlate to the inability to compete locally or globally. Without effective coping mechanisms instilled in the thought process what or how does one keep up with an ever changing environment? Technologically, socially etc? If we educate as opposed...

  • JNm0319, you are absolutely right. The 60s were the turning point (shift happens) MLK & JFK times. However, if you haven't read it, a book published in the late 70s, "None Dare Call It Conspiracy", by Gary Allen, will tell you exactly when all this Shift started that is now affecting our lives now. It is out of print so you may not be able to find it.

  • How are we going to handle this problem in the US? Are you kidding me? The problem is three fold; 1) we are way too focused on legislation and regulation and the associated fees that pay salaries to create more of the same. 2) We spend more money on jails and prisons than education 3) We spend more on special interest groups and lobbyists than infrastructure. Whether it be roads and bridges or fiber optics. Our leaders are more concerned with domestic spying than fixing problems.

  • As if you use this music again!

The music from "did you know 2" is so much better

  • sweetie, you are repeating yourself. All of this is REALLY fascinating, but still... i can see preditions from period which had its place 50 years ago. It seemed just like this seems now to me. A part about power of China is really curious... But still, remember one thing: Statistics lie!

It seems i just built them right now.

  • interesting. The chinese kids are more educate than the Americans in many levels, so I think China will grow into a better country than the U.S. since the U.S. economy is slowing down right now and China is the fastest growing economy.

  • 4th rotflmao

  • third lolz

  • SECOND! haha fail

  • yay first comment... and wow
