Rebecca could not be more awesome if she tried. She really has the most fantastic sense of humour, not to mention one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard!
If U ever hear Rebecca in the UK recording of Les Miz, her tone is very light but gorgeous nonetheless. The song I SAW HIM ONCE remains my fave & her voice is achingly gorgeous but it differs from her richer tone in Phantom. When I saw her in TO her voice had already developed into a full lyric soprano, so much so that she got the lead in the Canadian Opera Company's production of Lulu. She was fantastic & if I get the chance, I will load some sound clips since I see she has many fans.
Ah, I see. That makes sense. I'm a higher lyric as of now. My teach says Lyric-Coloratura is an option, which I find pleasing. Rebecca has the lovliest timbre though...
Lyric as opposed to (lyric) coloratura. I've not heard her lately, but here she's still on the lighter end of lyric. I've always thought that she had a fascinating timbre. An extraordinary smooth, pure sound, with rich undertones. Her Christine is one of the best. Good for her for making a name for herself in opera as well.
she and frances ruffelle are good friends

She's a bit arrogant isn't she? I could tell she was hard to work with.

She said she BECAME more of a lyric. What was she before? Surely not a mezzo!

More of a full lyric as opposed to a light lyric.
