Another reason for popping your own popcorn is the supposed health risk microwave popcorn bags pose. It is said that perfluorooctanoic acid, which can cause cancer and tumors, can seep through the bag and onto the popcorn. Even if not true at least i can add less butter and salt for a healthier snacking experience by popping my own.
