The v 10s are the some of the most gutless gas guzzeling trucks known to man. My 05 2500HD crew cab 6.0L gas towed with a 2007 V10 extended cab. My camp trailer was 3 ft longer and weighed more. The V10 burned honestly 3x the fuel I did. Go figure, and I could pull away from him any dang time I tried.

According to Ford website the 6.8L V10 has 362HP and according to Chevy website the 6.0L V8 has 367HP. Please get the facts straight before posting. New for 2009 Chevy offers a 6.2L V8 on 1/2 ton crew cabs that has 404HP.

Now lets compare fuel economy. I bet that V10 is real fuel efficient.

the v10 has a higher torque output than the 6.0L. 457 lbs/ft torque on the v10 vs. 375 on the 6.0 and 417 on the 6.2L. When your towing a load its the hp that produces the torque but the torque that really matters to get the load going. I'd rather have the 2009 f150 with 320 hp and 390 torque vs. the 6.0l. Not to mention a ford can tow its ass off

The largest engine you can get in an F150 is a 5.4L V8. GM has both the 6.0 and 6.2 with more HP, more torque, and better fuel economy to boot. The V10 is only available in 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. If you are such a torque person then get a Duramax which develops more torque than any Powerstroke at lower RPMs.

I personally think Ford overrates their engines in the torque, towing, and payload department.

I guarantee that a if an F150 can carry or tow it, a Silverado can too.

GM, probably has the best overall quality of the three, Ford is often the most popular, and cummins, out of the three may be the best diesel. I think, honestly, they are so close in comparison, that it comes down, to own personal preferences.I like them all three, myself, Ford has had probably the most disel problems with the 6.0,than Duramax or Cummins. Cummins are used in Semi's, Duramax, I think is ISUZU, but, Hummers use them,trucks today will do the job better than their predecessors.

35remmy...GM trucks tend to ride a bit lower beacuse they still use an IFS set up and are still the only 3/4 or 1ton trucks to do so...as opposed to dodge and ford who use a solid axles front and rear. so if u want to really lift your sierra or silverado buy a superduty

Well 03Duramaxdslguy, the reason I bought a 2008 Ford F-250 is everything about the truck. The dash is beautiful. The engine is tested and quiet. I love the cab and I love the ride. Everyone who gets in is VERY, VERY impressed with the new truck. I have owned it for 6 months and have no regrets for buying it. I even got a 7-year extended warrantee with it! It is a huge truck and I feel like I am in a truck. Get into a Lariat and see for yourself. I know Dodge owners too and they love my truck.

reason they put features you deem unnecessary are because they want the truck to appeal to women drivers which are making up a good market share now a days. by making it practical for their use and not to difficult to use it's features they can appeal to womens interests. the 170* rear doors make it easier to get into the back seat when in confined spaces. ever tried to get a 2yr old in the car seat in the back when the trucks parked next to another car thats too close? it's not easy
