  • i had this in dec 15th and we are trying for a baby after may when my 2nd smear is due if results are good. I have had pink discharge after sex now which is nearly 3 months from when i had it done, does anyone elce have this or no what it is?

  • I had this done today and I was so scared. I still kinda of feel like soap is up there burning but besides that I only felt the first shot of pain medicine to block the pain in my cervix. i was worked up for 2 months about it and it was nothing compared to what I imagined. Trust me I was sooooooo scared but it was just fine. good luck ladies...don't put it off either :)

  • @garlogic85... You're a dumbass! LEEP procedures aren't done just to treat STDs. Males carry STDs also, and that is exactly how my friends's 9 year old daughter got an STD! Being raped my some heartless sick fuck, not spreading her legs to the world (as you would so elegantly put it) Now she's 12 and has to have this procedure done! Maybe you should do a little less judging of others, and a little more research before making stupid comments like that!

  • @garlogic85. Why don't you do everyone a favor and kill YOURSELF! For your information this procedure isn't jusr for hpv. I had sever dysplasia in the process of becoming cervical cancer. Also 1in 4 women will get hpv at some point in their life. It doesn't make you a whore any more than having the flu does. People like you make me sick. So damn quick to judge somebody you dont even know.

  • @babygirlmd15 i just had it done about an hour ago. it isn't too bad really. a little crampy but not bad

  • Please ladies get it done if you need it... I just got it done today it was painless I was put to sleep; the nurses and doctors were very nice and efficient and all of my precancerous cells are gone I feel no pain... this procedure saved my cervix and has given me a chance to have children of my own!!

  • Was local anaesthetic....

  • Nothing to be scared of, I had this treatment today and is painless, all you may feel is the needle from the anaesthetic, just mild period pain to follow

  • If you are having this procedure, kill yourself. It's only way to stop the spread of this STD! Seriously, you know you're all not going to stop spreading your legs 2 weeks after this surgery and are probably too ashamed to tell your mates you have HPV.

  • @garlogic85 wow how heartless i mean god this std can go unnoticed for years

  • @garlogic85 have you had this procedure done? you dont know shit yes it is an std and personally my partner knows your not GOD you have no right to judge so fuck you!! I am offended because i did not infect myself but i'm trying to save my life because i can possibly get cervical cancer... Before you say shit go read about this topic this because its not as harsh as it seems and some people can grow out of it asshole!!

  • Me too:(

  • Dear Lord why did I watch this?! I have to have this done in a few days. Now I'm scared as hell

  • @jinxslave i know how you feel when you get it done please tel me how it went i might have to get this done as well thank god they will have to put me completely out though because i cant have local anesthetic

  • @babygirlmd15 get it done it is painless i dont feel it at all! i was given vicoprofen just in case it starts to hurt the procedure only took about 15min then i was sent to recovery until i woke up then i was sent home...

  • I had this done 5 days ago. It was outpatient at hospital and I was completely knocked out. I had a little spot of blood the first day, but not much since. Even though it wasn't a bad experience for me - and yes I was terrified beforehand, I'm glad I didn't watch this before the procedure. It hurts worse to see this.. lol, but it's good to know what the procedure was actually like.

  • @vddavis123 so they did put you out for leep also does your cervix ever look the same like it cant stay like this it does get pretty and pink again right and your aloud to have kids right

  • @babygirlmd15 Yes, I was completely put to sleep. Had my 14 day post surgery appt today and the doctor said it's healing well. There are risks now if I get pregnant, but there are things they can do to help you have a healthy pregnancy.. however, I'm 41 yrs old and have 3 boys ages 21, 19, and 11... so, I don't want anymore children. And yes, your cervix returns to it's pretty pink color, lol. Don't hesitate to allow your dr. to do this if it's recommended. Take care of yourself.

  • I have to get this done. My Doctor told me that she will numb you in there and start the procedure. And that she does it in her office. Also she prefers it over dnc/cone any day

  • oh its nothing, sure it's a little scary to think about, but there is no pain. Maybe what you would call a little "discomfort", but certainly NOTHING you need to be knocked out or even sedated for. I had high grade, had to have this done twice. I'd do it again tomorrow without blinking an eye. There are much more important things to worry about.

  • i have one of these in two weeks, my initial appointment i didnt no wat they was gna do so i was ok, now i have watched this, i am absolutely bricking it, but i needed to know, double headed sword, coz i am really scared :(

  • Hello I am suppose to have a leep /cone done in four days im on my period will i still be able to have my surgery?

  • .....I wish i hadn't watched this BEFORE my procedure.... 'nuff said

  • @cheletteck nooooo shit. i watched it after, but honeatly.. the procedure isnt that bad.

  • I need to get this done... I'm scared shitless after watching this! Can you request that they put you completely out?

  • @MariahWngdAng3l Hi, How do you know you "need" it done? Mabey its just recommended at this point. do u have cin 2 or 3? if its 2 i would wait and see, monitor it and try to heal it on your own with diet and vitamins and green tea. do alot of reasearch adn rading online and make your own decision, dont let a doctor scare u into doing something

  • @twopie2 I had 4 samples taken, and each one came back as "High Grade squamous intraepithelial lelsion (CIN2-3). My family has a history of cancer (my grandma passed away from it, and my mother's gone in twice to remove precancerous cells). Plus, It's uncommon for it to come back as high risk this early in life (i'm only 21), and high grade to boot.

  • @MariahWngdAng3l

I just had this done last week, i wasnt brave enough to watch a video before hand. It did not hurt and they will not knock you out. There was very little blood after, they gave me a cuppa tea and then let me go. It's scary yes, but you have to do it to protect your future. If women can have c sections while awake you can do it girl!

  • @yellowbellylover Hey, sorry I didnt reply, been having stuff to do around the house, along with the surgery done. They *did* knock me out, which I was very happy about lol.

  • @MariahWngdAng3l they only rareley put someone out completely...you could ask for what is called a twilight sedation, you are awake and alert but they give u some good drugs so that you relax and dont remember. midazolam/aversed

  • Second one done. numbing medicine was the worst part and lasted about 10 seconds. All clear. No real cramping and only minimal bleeding 11 days out. Immediately afterwards it felt later in the day as if something was pinching. Aleve took care of it. Ask a lot of questions and if you feel comfortable with your doctor all should be fine everyone.

  • I spoke to my doctor in depth after reading people posting 'opinions' on here. He advised me with his expert opinion and assured me that there would be no problems in getting pregnant, only in delivery if the procedure has to be carried out more than twice... this is easily resolved with a planned C section. As with sex, there is no pain.. 4 to 6 weeks of abstinence is advised to avoid infections. The procedure went pretty well for me, it was a little distressful but there was no pain at all

  • I have to have this procedure 2 weeks from now!!!! I'm scared now that i see this and i'm nervous but watch this video is very educating!!! But it's for my health....and a HAPPY VAGINA:-)

  • The worst part is having to sign the paper. A paper that says that you understand that due to scar tissue etc you may never be able to have a baby and/or carry to term. I dont want kids but being told that you may not be able... Thanks to all who have said that they have had kids after LEEP.

  • @CatpurrRobertaBobbi .... it doesn't say you cannot have kids... it says that if you have this procedure carried out more than twice then there may be complications with delivery due to your cervix muscle being scared. The procedure does not cause any problems with coception.. and a planned C section may be needed.

  • I had level 3 pre cancer around 2002. It was found after a pap. Not active for 10yrs and no warning signs plus I NEVER went au natural. Yet somehow contact happened. Still dont know how... GET A PAP. The HPV virus can be in your body for years. It may or may not change your cells. So much is not known.

  • I think many of you are being highly dramatic. I had laser surgery 20 years ago and again am scheduled for a LEEP next week. first off I was able to carry 2 babies without difficulty. The procedure itself was barely noticeable and I received nothing for pain. With the laser technique they gave you nothing. No local no IV. And I have had a very rewarding normal sex life since my first procedure. I would do it again in a heartbeat for peace of mind. How many of you went to med school?

  • @howarli so very true!

  • Make sure you see a DNA HPV Report that shows all the types of HPV (this will be shown will be in numbers associated with the strain) and whether the HPV virus is high or low risk. HPV is a virus and cannot be seen with colposcopy or the naked eye. Not all CIN or HPV is cancer causing. Demand the HPV report. Demand to be checked for a bacterial infection as this may cause abnormal cells.

  • I just had this procedure two days ago. I will be 27 next week, and have 4 children, and never have I ever had an abnormal pap until the begining of this month. After the biopsies, and all that uncomforatble pain, my Dr told me I needed the LEEP asap. The shots did not have any time at all to set in before he began, so I felt every bit of it. Not plesant. I am still in a lo of pain, and still confused with why he will not just do a hysterectomy. Tubes have been tied for 6yrs,& awful periods too.

  • i had the procedure done 9 days ago. here is how mines went...undress from waist down, feet in stirrups, vinegar based solution get thrown in to wash it out n make the infected area more visible....u get an injection into ur cervix so u ,dnt feel the procedure....the machine makes vaccuum like noice but looks like dental floss on a stick. you do not feel it at all...they put some brown solution on the reated area to stop beeding...tampon goes in..n comes out 4 hrs later

  • @hypnotiza123 Glad your procedure went well for you but it is different for every woman. Some report extreme discomfort and discharge for weeks afterwards. Some cannot have sex for weeks afterwards. It is by no means a routine procedure.

There is also a chance that it could affect future pregnancy. Not good if you are planning kids in the future. If your done with kids,no big deal. If you plan to get pregnant i would only do the LEEP as a last resort after trying self help options and repeat pap

  • @twopie2 well to be honest the dr tells you not to have sex for at least 3 wks after, not to use tampons and such to avoid infection...thats not unusual instructions to receive from your dr. the only side effects i had were blood clots and i had to go back to the hospital to stop the bleeding. i had cramping post op and then spotting which they said is to be expected. im still spotting but no other pain. mines seems to be very well handled, and sry for the women whos hasnt been

  • Why was LEEP done for cin2 to begin with? when alot of the times it goes away on its own? Doctors are too quick to perform invasive procedures for a disease that statistically is rare.

  • @twopie2 CIN 2 is equivalent to HSIL, which is the classification that is now mostly used, and every HSIL get excised because it is considered a pre-cancerous lesion. LSIL, equivalent to CIN 1 or mild dysplasia, which is not pre-cancerous but only a sign of active infection is only observed and usually goes away on its own.

  • @morphine1398 Well considering that you would have to do pap tests on 1000 women for 35 years to prevent just 1 cervical cancer death...how many leeps are performed that are not needed? thousands and thousands per year. I would advocate for no LEEP until CIN3.

If you have CIN 2 why not take 6 months and try to let it heal on its own, using self help options? Conventional wisdom says cervical cancer takes 5-15 years to develop, whats the hurt in waiting 6 months?

  • @twopie2 I think you raise a valid point. But the decision is often multifactorial based not only on histology (which is not perfectly reproducible, and distinction between CIN 2 or 3 is not necessarily always black or white) but also on individual patient characteristics, risk level, compliance. Also, cervical lesions tend to create a lot of anxiety in patients and most want to be treated and that makes comparative data between untreated versus treated high grade lesions difficult to obtain.

  • @morphine1398 U seem very knowledgeable in this subject. Would you be able to answer this for me as i am having a hard time understanding why doctors create so much alarm for women.

If Cervical Cancer take 5-15 years to develop, why on a first abnormal pap test is a woman referred for colposcopy and painful biopsies instead of just waiting 6 moths to a year and seeing if it clears on its own. Is there worry about litigation if the woman develops cancer

  • @twopie2 this is because like I said in some other comments, specially in the US, there is big bucks in gyne treatments. It's something they can tell women they NEED and MUST HAVE, and boy, those women have to pay for it too. Where I live, in the UK, GPs are paid big bonuses from the government for getting as many women as possible to have paps. Women in the US are frightened into paying for these treatments, that they do not need, some of them can't even afford their homes, the gyne industry...

  • en mexico te hacen esto para robar mutilando los genitales al estilo de paises que mutilan genitales a niñas aca en méxico rotary y la iglesia lo realiza inventando papiloma analiza el video... papiloma en aquixtla o reportaje del negocio del papiloma

  • today i did the surgery cin II and I want to inform all the girls that I did not understand anything and that there s no pain at all. The surgery is done under local injection, I was awake and watching. do not be afraid ang go to do it as fast as you can. its a joke !! dont gamble with cin..

  • OMG! i feel soo bad to women, who dont necessary have to do LEEP, but then underwent for LEEP procedure!

  • Has any ones sex life been affected I am due to get one in 2 days

  • I had this procedure done yesterday for CIN II/III in the office with local anesthesia. After reading about it online, I was terrified, but now I can tell anyone who wants to know that it wasn't even as uncomfortable as a colposcopy. I'm a little sore, but no cramping. I bled a little yesterday but haven't since then and even returned to work today. Don't gamble with CIN and do this if it's necessary. It's not so bad.

  • PLEASE don't listen to people online stating bs facts. Ask your doctor or surgeon. Be informed. The worst thing you can do is listen to someone who has an "opinion" rather than knowledge. I made the mistake of listening to some of the propaganda, and it scared me to the point of anxiety. Its a safe procedure, and the cramping usually doesn't last for longer than a few days.

  • I had this done yesterday. Caused some cramping afterwards, but when they numb the cervix, its actually not as bad as a colposcopy. No sex for 3 weeks, and a follow up exam in 3 weeks. Trust me, its not that bad.

  • Most gynecologist's do not think women's have a sensitive cervix nor do they understand the importance of a woman's cervix in contribution to orgasm and her enjoyment of sex. If you are a woman that has a sensitive cervix, meaning you can feel it when touched or when aroused you have orgasms with deep penetrtion, you will no longer be able to have this with a Deep LEEP conization. This will affect your enjoyment of your sex life. Explore other alternatives, use this a a last resort.

  • This. Terrifies me. I'm having the LEEP procedure done May 24th.. I shouldn't have watched this =[

  • I had this done Monday 4/18/11. I have suffered from cervical ectroption for years, it was caused by birth control. I constantly bled during and after intercourse and it's fair to say it was ruining my dating life. My doc is very experienced and explained each and every little step she took. I didn't feel ANYTHING. Not the shot for the numbing nor the LEEP procedure itself. It was seriously less painful then my last pap smear. Please research your doc, a good one can make all the difference.

  • I am getting this procedure done in 2 weeks... I am alittle scared!! It was either the LEEP or a hysterectomy... personally, I am only 28 and i feel that is too young for a hysterectomy. does it hurt? alot of discomfort??

  • @blondiwitblueyez Depending on the innervation of your cervix. It can hurt and cause chronic pain for the rest of your life depending on the depth of the LEEP. It has been know to cause increased cramping, pain on intercourse forever, inbility to orgasm as the cervix is important to the woman's ability to orgasm, and break through bleeding. There are other alternatives to this procedure. It is rarely necessary as a hysterectomy so if that are your only choices find another doctor.

  • NO WORRY AND NO PANIC! I HAVE BEEN maked this 3 days ago, and today i can say that the most teriffical think was being nude! if you have a good doctor it doesn't hurt your body! for my self was worst the biopsy!

  • thanks for the vid.

  • I had this done this morning and I didnt have any problems whatsoever. Maybe I have a wonderful doctor who explained everything too me and reassured me about what was happening and the pros and cons of this. Definitely do your research!

  • I have CIN 2 and am having this procedure done today (in a few hours actually) and I'm terrified. I know it has to be done, but it doesn't make it any less terrifying.

  • @pooh42682 I'm waiting for biopsy results but probably I have CIN3..it is terrible watching this kind of videos!!!

  • @SteMirandola I got my results back a week after the procedure. The margins were clear so they got everything that they needed to. I'm still having a lot of cramping, some of it quite painful, and I have a slight Y.I. according to the doctor I saw today. The procedure went well and I had only slight discomfort afterwards. My regular GYN who did the procedure is wonderful :)

  • I would have thought this grotesque and 99% of the time UN NEEDED surgery could actualy weaken the cerivix, leaving it scarred and more vaunrable to HP & cancer? What I want to know is why are cancer treatments being carried out when there is no cancer? I think the whole 'female health' industry cares little for women, and more about targets & bonuses. I'm so terrified of having this mutilation done to me for 'abnormalities', NOT cancer, that I refuse to even go for a smear...

  • @thewr0ngchild do you not think that you'd rather be safe and prevent cancer and have a smear done than get admitted to hospital ill dying of cancer?

Your opinion sounds ridiculous to me.

When offered the choice.... definite not cancer.... or possible cancer... I know which one I would choose.

  • @StellaRose1990 so you'd rather have a chunk of your cervix chopped out, not because you have cancer, but because your smear says you should have it done. Then you very possibly won't be able to carry a baby, will suffer pain during sex for the rest of your life, and ironically leave your cervix even more vaunrable to cancer!

  • @StellaRose1990 the gyn industry has taught women like yourselves to fear something that is very rare, and is NOT always picked up on smears even if you have it! Smear tests are unreliable as well, they are outdated and are not always right. Smears have told women they don't have problems when they do, and do have problems when they don't. The 'Jade Goody effect' is quite terrifying, the gyn industry is cashing in on the poor girl's death.

  • @StellaRose1990 if anyone knows about cancer, I do, I lost me father to it, but I am not going to be duped and scared into having highly painful, invasive medical exams & treatments I don't need because of some 1 in 10000 chance I might have an abnormality. If I get cancer, I get cancer, and I've got a damn sight more chance of getting liver, lung, stomach, bowl or brain cancer than I ever have cervical! We really need to wake up and smell the money the gynes are making with this.

  • I had this done last June and it was the worst experience of my life. I have no medical insurance and was therefore "doomed" to a clinic for the uninsured. I have no clue if I really needed the procedure truly. I know that I bled for an entire month, have had dull pain ever since. The procedure was not clearly explained to me either. Please do your research ladies and be smarter than I was. I just wish we had been told about HPV when I was a teenager!

  • Women who have only clitoral orgasms are not usually affected with sexual dysfunction; however, those women who have a sensitive cervix and have deep orgasms by stimulating the cervix can no longer have those and usually have pain upon intercourse for the rest of their lives. Also, we have seen women who can never have intercourse after this procedure because of the pain. Know your body and sexual sensitivity. Make your GYN prove this will turn into cancer before this surgery. Be Informed.

  • Dysplasia is abnormal cells. Make sure your dyplasia is not caused by a bacteria infection or trama to the cervix or a folic acid deficiency. Demand an HPV test. Dysplasia is not HPV. If HPV is not present, the patient may have an infection that needs to be treated or dysplasia can be indicative of cervicitis, neither need to be treated with a LEEP. Extensive research has revealed that this can cause chronic vaginal, vulva and cervix pain in women with an innervated cervix & prevent orgasm.

  • yes 90% of hpv goes away in normal population, not in women with dysplasia. Its 50-50 percent of cancer risk in women with dysplasia, CIN 1 the least CIN 3 the highest risk . Cervical cancer is only rare due to frequent screenings and treatment of dysplasia. I started out CIN 1 and progressed to CIN 2 two years later. Women after leep have 10% chance of dysplasia reoccuring, sometimes same strand sometimes new strand. This procedure looks worse than it is, if you are nervous i would go under

  • @janellenicoledavis HPV including high risk strains do go away in women with dysplasia depending on the woman's immune system. In Finland that has the lowest rate of cervical cancer and lowest treatment rate for cervical cancer correctly diagnoses abnormal cells and dyspasia usually which are not pre-cancerous. Dysplasia just means abnormal cells, people with hip displasia don't get hip joint cancer. American gynecologist perform LEEP procedures like past tonsillectomies that were not needed.

  • I had CIN 2 & terrified of this procedure, but when I had it done they took out tiny bits of cervix. Please do not delay getting this done, many women who opted for natural treatments have only succumed to cancer, if you think this is bad, look at photos of cervical cancer. The cervical skin grows back, dr can't tell from visual exam if you had a leep unless it was extensive. My cervix is a little uneven now, but the full cervix is intact and bx sites have grown back. Expecting 2nd baby in July

  • I had this procedure done in 2007 because I had extensive CIN III the highest grade of precancerous cell change. It left me with permanent cervical damage, and after three years the scar tissue still bleeds very easily at exam time. It's mutilation, but far better than the treatment for actual cancer. I have HPV - which caused the damage. If all this could be prevented by having the vaccinations - well it's a no brainer. I wish they had been around when I was a teen.

  • @Jo1066milton No it wasn't the HPV that caused the damage, it was the LEEP procedure. The LEEP creates scar tissue and nerve damage which is sexual mulation. more in some women than others. The vaccine has shown to cause genital warts. There are many other treatments for the precancerous cells that are less debiliting other than a LEEP that can be debilitating. Which strain did you have of HPV, remember dysplasia is not HPV. The bodies immune system usually takes care of dysplasia.

  • I am having this done tomorrow. I was already scared but now I really dont want to!!!!

  • @Jenna24Lee I have had this procedure done twice and it is not that bad! I still have orgasms, i'm still able to have kids and carry them full term. It is not that scary. and yes there is precancer. It's cells that develop into cancer. Granted it depends on your case. Every woman is different and for me to say that your's wont be different would be a lie. Both of my surgeries were different. My first LEEP was CIN III which was minor. This past one that I had this month was major CIN II.

  • @Jenna24Lee Do not let people discourage you on doing whats right. I did the procedures because I want to live strong for my daughter and my husband! Cancer is not something to play around with!!

  • Stanswife ... PLEASE google 'unnecessary paps blogcritics' and read, read, READ

This is NOT a 'minor' procedure, it is often unnecessary (as HPV resolves itself over 90% of the time) ... this procedure causes various problems that can lead to infertility as well as problems carrying a child to term.

So many women have allowed their cervix to be mutilated without really understanding the risks ... and that Cervical Cancer is RARE!!!

  • @abbbbbcd12 unless YOU are a dr/scientist on the cutting edge of technology and medicine.. then shut up. why would you come look at this video and be an asshole.. go away.

  • @calin719 You don't have to be a scientist to know the side affects of this procedure. This procedure is not mild and can be painfully debilitating to women. It can cause permanent vulva-vagina pain, vulvodynia, an incompetent cervix and sexual dysfunction as many women cannot orgasm without a cervix. American Gynecologist earn professional degrees, an apprenticeship learning style, not research degrees for new knowledge. Thus American MDs repeat outdated procedures learned from predecessors.

  • Why ... why ... why ... would ANYONE allow this to be done to them?

Please google Joel Sherman & Unnecessary Pap Smears ... get informed ... save your CERVIX!

There is NO such thing as 'precancer'

  • @abbbbbcd12 I was just told I need this procedure.

  • @abbbbbcd12 Thank you for being brave enough to post this. Also look at the works of neurobiologist J.J. Collins, PhD; neuroscientist Karen Berkley PhD, researcher who found the cervix one body parts that has the most nerve endings; along with human sexuality researcher, Beverly Whipple, PhD that describe women who are parapelegic have orgasms by stimulating the cervix. The cervix is an innervated sex organ for many women who can orgasm with cervix stimulation. A LEEP will end this.

  • I had this procedure yesterday afternoon - just under local but my word my legs were shaking and allsorts!!!!

  • I had this done last wk. The anesthesiologist asked if I wanted 2 go under or b awake but I couldn't move if I felt pinching or pushing. I wanted 2 b awake & when she gave me the medicine in the iv, I was getting prepped & covered up. I remember mayb 5 mins after the medicine & the next thing I knew I was in recovery waking up. I had no cramps but the 1st time I went to pee, it burned a bit. Kind of like but no as bad as after having a baby. Then i've been having discharge and wearing pantiliner

  • due to have this soon - does it hurt?

  • That shit fucking hurt and it didn't work. They ended up freezing my cervix.

  • i did too just about 2 months ago... eeeek no wonder it frikkin hurt

  • Oh dear lord. I had this done....my poor cervix!
