  • Why not try making yourself some stairs from the first lot of glass columns?

  • Is there any way to break some of the glass blocks then climb back up to hit the switch so you can hit more of them on the way back down?

  • If you want a hint, try setting your path before you begin.

  • Don't go all the way down with your Statue. Go in steps.

  • jump over the blue switch> make a staircase out of the glass> press the blue switch> get the thing> go back to the save

  • can't you just slowly break all three rows of glass in the beginning so when you rush back you will be able to reach the black door thing?

  • @secrami You can't go back up to activate the blue switch without resetting the glass.

  • There is probably an elegant solution!!

Nitori's ducking sprite is awfully expressive, isn't it?

  • You're one row of stone kappa glass break short

  • It certainly looks like there's more room to the left. Perhaps the shoes let you break through the brown blocks down near where the gray switch was?

  • @NakaTeleeli The shoes only break through "hazard walls".

  • as a note, if you use a thread it will preserve what items you have retrieved as well as any keys collected, the only thing not preserved are colored switches

so you might want to stock up on some as emergency exits

  • Why don't you try using the thread? S: I guess it could work lol

  • Yeah you will have to break the glass before you hit the blue switch in such a way that you can still get back up to hit the switch, and still be able to climb it to get to the door. But presumably you already know that cause you already recorded tomorrow's video :P

  • A note to raocow: You can jump over the switch and get a lot of the glass down before jumping back up to activate the switch.

  • only way i see this happening is if you make some stairs out of crumbling blocks, climb the while they crumble, press the switch, the climb them down and up so they crumble enough that you can go on, while bieng able to climb them back up later. But this would take freaking long...

  • Sucks that you can't hyperdash through glass.

Shit breaks as you step on it

Yet it resists the horizontal demands of supersonic Kappas

  • I mean, you said you needed the stone thingy to progress there, and it was right on the first screen...

  • Am I the only one who keeps thinking of this? youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=NNEq4ziNm_A#t=300s

  • My guess is the reset door preserves broken glass blocks, so you're supposed to clear all 3 columns at the beginning from right to left in 2 trips.

As a general comment, though... this is getting into Kaizo territory...

  • @elemist315 Well... poop.

    Hmm...

  • Actually the door is the way out, but the solution is timing heavy. Since you have to grab the shoes then rush back to the door, which needed to be cleared moments after you press the switch by making the first three top blocks on the tower break, then skip the first one, do the two to the right, then do the farthest block three, jump back up to the switch, press it, then go for the shoes, leaving the door open for those stuck on this puzzle.

  • Game's getting kind of "I Wanna Be The Kappa" now, isn't it?

  • 8:20

The first time I physically hit myself watching a raocow video.

A full speed palm to the forehead.

  • Maybe you're supposed to use the statue to get two of the collumns of glass down, but leave enough so that you're able to jump to the last one from the ones you're standing on, then use the statue on that and repeat the process?

  • Probably each Homestuch fan thought of Kismesissitudeat 6:36.

    ...

That would be soo perfect if Raocow said that 24 seconds earlier.

  • Man, I read "Outrun your Despair" as "Outrun your Dumpster".

  • There's no way you can leave yourself a staircase of glass to get back up. The only way I see is somehow climbing the wall with the dashoes.

  • @Blaizerazer its possible, you really have to make use of your max jump height

  • Just one more try, but that one didn't count. Oh, man, Raocow.

  • HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG

  • @raocow I think I might have the solution, but Im not sure if you want it or not, so I'll just give you an incredibly blunt hint.. make stairs back up to the button. Sorry if you didnt want help, but I hate when a game makes a puzzle more retry-heavy than hard... its a jerk move. D:

  • Raocow, you know about the bouncing off the wall trick with the Shoes?

  • I don't think that's the intended way, but I would have used the Ariadne's Thread at the end.

  • @kaiminus

That's what I was thining too.

  • @kaiminus Wouldn't that just reset the world? That might end up making the game take your items away again.

  • I have an insane thought although I never played this game. I think if you time yourself to be using the hyperdash shoes to have the maxium speed and be precisely at the block between the blue wall and the glass wall when the blue switch goes off you'll get a bigger bounce and it will boost you up.

  • About the puzzle at the beginning with the yellow spikes, you were playing as if you needed to have the blue exclamation block switch on so the potato man could cross it. Why couldn't it be off? He'd end up in the same place, wouldn't he?

  • @carltheshivan brown potato men don't fall off ledges, they turn around instead!

  • @carltheshivan Brown FOEs don't fall off ledges on their own.

  • I haven't played the Extra Stage yet, but I've heard from a friend that you can somehow pull off a continuous wall-jump with the HyperDaShoes. It's never required in the regular game. Maybe experiment a little with them in that room, because honestly, I don't see how else you could clear that last bit.

  • Aw man, and I was sure the DaShoes could break glass. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

  • ARRRGGGHHHH UUUUURRGGHHHH

  • Classic gamer mind. "Okay, just one more try." - Several more tries.

  • "Waiting for Godot"

Damn... I was reading about that play last night. o.O

  • CHECK UR ITMES

  • @TheQuert678 I've.. I've got two items. The statue and the shoes.

  • @raocow :D. Long time watcher. Great videos

  • @raocow Do you want the solution? It's not as complicated as it seems, but it's quite tricky to think up.

  • @raocow Well, no, there's a secret itmes menu. :3

  • @raocow maybe he means you can use the thread to leave with the shoes, but i don't see that helping all that much.......

  • You have three items. The Araidne's Thread =)

  • @raocow Look at your items, not equipment, Mr caw rao!

  • @raocow Oh yeah, he's right, you can use the Ariadne's Thread to return to the map screen!

However, I'm not sure whether you will lose your equipment all over again if you reenter Gensokyo. It seems likely. Don't save before reentering, just to be sure.

Also, it might very well be that you will need to use your Ariadne's Thread later in the world which means that you'll be stuck.

All in all, it's not a very good idea.

  • @Nixitur if push comes to shove, he could go grind up mushrooms. Doesn't Marisa sell Aridane's Threads? Or am I mistaken?

  • Comment removed

  • @InuYashafanboyee Ignore my last comment, you can buy 'em for 100 shrooms.

However, I'm pretty sure he would lose all his equpiment all over again if he reenters Gensokyo. But it's worth a try, I guess?

  • @Nixitur No,your wrong. He wont lost all the items. I've left world 5 to grind for mushrooms and when I went back,I still had the Earthkeeper. As long as you collect the item, you'll keep it even if you leave world 5 for some reason.

  • @raocow I see what TheQuert678 ment when he said "Check your items" because there is something in your inventory that..Maybe some people wouldn't of had, but you do got one of them, and that idea just may work.

  • @raocow And one other! Who knows, might serve a purpose. Heck, it -did- mention it on that sign before the save point at the entrance to this world...

  • @raocow What you do is break the right column of glass three times, the middle column three times down from the right column after its broken, and the left column three times down from the middle column after it's broken. Then you crack the glass (not break) on the left column and climb back up, hit the switch, and use the Earthkeeper on the right and middle columns, and you will be able to jump on the left column, break it, and continue. There's no room for error after that.

  • @TheQuert678 I think he's being extra stingy with his single thread of hope.

  • @TheQuert678 his thread thing right?

  • Yeah i'm sure people watched a 12 minute video 5 minutes after it was first uploaded.

  • MORE nitroid

    holy shit
