I have heard Onegin a thousand times and love the opera, I did have the good fortune to see Onegin preformed at the Mariinsky...and that was magical...Ivan Kozlovsky performs the best Lensky I have ever heard and that is only thanks to You Tube...What personna and mastery of voice and presence...Many thanks for this clip!
I agree with you, But is is a matter of personal preference, and I do not understand people who send negative votes to ban others. It is not an enemy, it is just another opera fan with different opinion. People just like trying change others the best. As somebody said : I greet every opinion as long as they do not contradict mine:)

Je n'y crois pas du tout.Des manières! Avec dans la voix non pas des expressions de naïveté, mais celles de l'idiot dans Boris Godounov (~~5:15).Puis ces fameux aigus de ténor russe qui cette fois ne m'emportent pas.Niet.
Interesting how light his voice is, very russian sounding yet marvelously bel canto in approach, particularly in the gentleness of the attack and the marvelous limpidness of the tone. What I like is that the conductor behaves himself, keeping the marvelous orchestration out of the way- it's gorgeous writing, but can overpower a lighter voice tenor easily because the aria lies low.

Kozlovsky was Stalin's favorite tenor, and concerning opera Stalin was not a fool.

Kozlovskiy is the best Lenskiy!!!!

Outstanding - especially revealing when noting the recent airing of the Met Auditions with a
teacher of one tenor. Ludicrous exaggeration of the mouth and being told to "cover" the opening.
Modifying is NOT covering. A violinist would do this to his instrument and singing is comparable.

I still favor Kozlovsky's tone over Lemeshev on this one :^)
