I hated the ending it was stupid throwing away our tech to go back to living like cavemen with rocks was illogical and clearly out of context the whole point of finding a home was to rebuild yes I see that but from scratch knowing the Cylon threat was still out there? Wasn't the original series cautious about that same naive thinking leading to their almost annihilation by the Cylons that were preparing to attack to wipe them out on that Tylium moon? Oh joy we threw away our ships now kill us!
@blameist Well, in all the prior cases Cylons were slaves then rebelled. This was the first time they were set free and treated like people rather than machines. Plus I think the main message here was to trust because where are we if we can't at least do that? Personally I rather die being betrayed than live in fear and not trusting anyone.
I agree it wasn't a realistic conclusion they came to, but it was poetic. And sometimes I prefer poetic over logical when it comes to entertainment.
@tzepesh20 Good chance that after a quarter million years, the shuttles would have disintegrated from so much rusting on the planet. Since last I checked metal is a little more difficult to fossilize than bone. But then again there have been indications of ancient astronauts, and so they may have been found but could not be identified as a space craft of any sorts.
i personally would have liked to have seen a final scene with adama and tigh just to see if adama accepts him as his friend again before they part ways but sadly it wasnt meant to be, as for the shuttles the raptors were probably put onto autopilot to meet the ships and the vipers left on board galactica, thats my theory at least
I had a nerdgasm when I first saw this episode and the music segued into the original Battlestar Galactica theme at the end.

@Potrimpo They could also have been sent on autopilot into what we now know as the Marianas Trench.
