Technically thats not sushi. "Sushi" is a term for the combination of rice and rice vinegar. It doesn't really have to have fish in it, and the fish doesn't have to be raw either.

Just to let everyone know, it's been 4 years since I've posted this video and my friend who ate the minnows is perfectly fine. She never got sick, she has no parasites, and we look back at this and laugh.

i don't know about the saltwater/freshwater parasites thing Rabarx was talking about but there are parasites that can transfer from fish to human.

one of them is the fluke. its life cycle is from feces to snail to fish to human or other mammal, i'm sure.

Sushi is saltwater fish. Saltwater parasites cannot live in freshwater humans. However, freshwater parasites will happily take up residence in the human body. You should never eat raw freshwater fish.

sushi is inspected and prepared by the chef to make sure there is no parasite and bones before the customer consume it. Eating a dead fish raw cannot be called eating sushi.

it's from a lake. we caught the minnows in a big net and noel got to choose which three she wanted to cut up. those minnows were alive about 5 minutes before this video was taken.

The lake fish needs proper treatment before eating raw.

Most of the ocean fish is okay to eat raw without treatment because ocean's salt water is treatment itself.

However, I strongly don't believe that eating such small amount of lake raw fish is harmful.

I wouldn't have let her eat a full-blown fish because I know lakes are nasty. It was only three small minnows and it's been over a year and she hasn't gotten sick yet so she's fine. :)

idiots. sushi isnt raw fish. sushi is vinegered rice. sometimes TOPPED or WRAPPED with fish, thats why everyone is confused. you can get sushi without fish at ANY japanese resteraunt.
