  • heaven just got a lot cooler.

best TV presenter, and i strongly believe he will be the only one of his kind, till the end of TV

  • RIP Jimmy. An icon you were.

  • A great ambassador for his County, country and has left a legacy that can only be described as generous. Thanks fella for your time with us!!

  • Always thought that Saville was a gem due to his charity work but recently unearthed info on his personal life leaves me with a less than positive impression of the man.

  • @herrloop if only people knew the real Jimmy saville, they wouldn't be so effusive in their praise.

  • We will never see his like again!

  • Nice tribute to one of the Great British characters of the last 50 years

  • At 1:22 he looks just like Sir Alec Guinness.

  • This guy was way ahead of his time. He was wearing tracksuits & bling 40 years before the rappers. He was also the first DJ to use a twin turntable & unlike the young stars of today, he gave far more than he ever took. He was much derided for daring to be himself & different from the norm. What a great character. Another slice of my childhood gone.

  • @whitbyjet65 a slice of others childhood went with him also !,look up Haut la garenne childrens care home inJersey

  • When you think about how much this guy did for others, wow. What a special, special person, the likes of which we will never see again. RIP.

  • @MrPeteMB many thanks for your kind comments ...

  • We will all miss Jimmy Saville who was such a great person and also humble and generous with his time. A great Christian and Catholic.

He came regularly to Jersey and was Jerseys Mr Battle Three times in Jerseys Battle of Flowers.

God Bless Jim . I know you fixed it for me.

    Peter H Bewers. Jersey C.I.

  • @MyJerseybean Thankyou for your comments

  • Thank you so much for this tribute.

Sir Jimmy Savile was unique - we will never see his like again!

Jim had an amazing presence; when he walked into a room he was truly captivating. He was always flamboyant; always absolutely genuine!

His life should stand as an example to us all!

    God bless Jim

  • I will remember Sir Jim for charity work in hospitals and his wacky style of DJ-ing.

    Peace

  • We'll remember Jimmy Savile as an "eccentric," but I think it was his constancy, faithfulness and commitment to those causes that he believed in, his unswerving dedication, that made us realize that here was a very special man. "Sorely missed" hardly seems adequate!

  • was he on the sex offenders register?

  • @Ratchet936: My mate's dad was a camera man on TOTP in the 70s. He says that Saville was caught giving Jonathan King a blow job after one show. That definitely makes him a homo if not a raving paedo (as Jonathan King was also convicted of being a paedo).

  • @t0mme1981

thanks ///went down a treat with my special curry .....each too there own

  • @Ratchet936 I don't think so,but he should have been. How easily people are fooled.

  • Rip

  • a great tribute. i shared this on my fb

  • Very well done -

  • What a nice tribute.

The one I saw yesterday(Louis Theroux) has decended into a vile slanging match(as usual).

It's strange how his death tugs at the heart strings....

  • A Legend R.I.P

  • R.I.P :(

  • Me once met his brother.

    RIP, Jimmy

  • A lovely piece of work. Well done.

  • oh what a shame.
