how long does it take 2 teach a budgie 2 talk, older budgies. how llong does it take 4 2 budgies 2 talk. also, can i ask, how do u keep it from flying around like crazy and get it back to its cage? need some tips before i do it please.
Cute! My birds won't take a bath no matter what! Tweetie is terrified of foreign objects (it took her FOREVER just to get used to the Cuttle Bone!) , and the Sink is one of them. As for Poof Jr, he is unfamiliar with the sink, so he doesn't really do anything. And when Tweetie flies away, of course Poof Jr has to follow!
@tinakhal oh mai gawd same thing with mine....though i want them to take a bath cuz they alway in their food bowl.....yea..BUT THEY SCARED IF EVERYTHANG >;O
@dull123andcutemew - LOL, the funniest thing happened two weeks ago! I saw Poof Jr drinking water, but it looked more like testing water. Curious, I got out my camera and very discreetly started recording. Next thing you know, he was taking a bath! It was adorable, and I never even taught him or saw him do that before! Tweetie on the other hand was looking terrified hahaha! But it was adorable! Don't give up hope, the budgies have their ways ;)

so adorable. Simba, my favorite budgie (who passed away years ago) wouldn't do that... he always was on my hand when he bathed under the facet. And I love the colors on your budgie.
Luck takes a part I think but if they show interest in something they will want to join in. Put a favourite toy in a dish in the sink under a dripping tap and then see if you can increase the flow once the bird is in. Similarly try to show your bird its favourite vegetable being washed....

You should not let your budgie bath or shower late on the day, only in the morning / early afternoon.
Their feathers should be completely dry before they go to sleep. :)

It's not that he loves water but if it is running and making a splash he is interested. Sometimes he wants to get in.I always watch him.
