I think Debra is one of those emotion vs. talent kind of cases which are pretty common on this show and on BGT as well. Her story is touching. She sings with emotion. Does she sing with strength and does she have a naturally powerful voice? No. It's good, but not great. There were better acts that didn't get to go through, and better singers. It's a shame because it is a talent competition and any of the classical singers outperformed her, even while sick.

Romer is really good, I'd buy a CD of her singing, as long as she sang stuff like this, and like her audition (the Mclachlan cover.) Good stuff, love the voice. To me this is even better than many of Jewel's live performances which are vocally impressive but too 'monkeyed with' with the odd vocal effects, I think it's the kind of song best sung 'straight' with lots of feeling.
