Algerians will never forget the West attitude towards the tragedy they went through. Arms embargo, encouraging the widespread belief that the authorities were behind large-scale massacres, the famous "Qui Tue Qui?", harboring terrorist support groups, convicted terrorists all in the name of ....human rights. Only after 9/11 did it change because of pressure from the US administration. Let alone the amount of money Algeria was about to spend to improve the economy.
