This is hilarious! Fun fact: you should never put you head back when trying to stop a bloody nose. It's better to pinch it and lean forward. Otherwise the blood can go down your throat and lead you to throw up. It's not pretty

You tilt your head FORWARDS and let your body do it's job - and if you're worried about your clothed or the carpet, you use a tissue to catch the blood.

Though I shouldn't be shocked, as you appear to come from the USA, where doctors still believed the old-fashioned nonsense about "health benefits" of male circumcision (male genital mutilation). I'd prefer to believe my own doctors (I've had more than one, moved around), and the National Health Service. E-mail 5-10 non-US doctors and see what they tell you.

did you guys know, the method of putting your head back(something that every race knows) is actually bad for you when you get a nose bleed. you have to leave your head down and get a tissue to block it off lol

@snakelemon Vegeterians don't need to be, but they have it in them for two reasons: emotional(they do not wish animals/humans to suffer) and rational(they are against meat-consumption, so they will not kill animals/human beings and not be involved in their killing) . This sympathetic and logical source of vegetarianism makes me believe vegetarians are pacifists, exactly what Phoebe was telling us.

Every ethnicity, race, or groups of people seem to think when you have a nosebleed you have to put your head back to stop the bleeding. Yes it works but the thing behind it is that it blocks your nasal cavity which is why the blood stops but if it blocks your nasal cavity then it might be harmful and if the blood goes deeper and blocks your breathing tubes or go the wrong way.. dangerous

@FrkJonas True, but I think the initial tilting of the head back is more to prevent blood from dripping on your clothes rather than actually stopping the bleeding. :)

@FrkJonas not just that. It can seep into your brain and be very dangerous (look it up if that sounds nuts). But sadly, as we've seen from Mrs Doubtfire, people copy what they see in movies (though in Mrs Doubtfire the technique for choking was right in the situation. Her knowledge of England was crap though)
